Delicious Food But a Bit Expensive

The food here is delicious. They make a terrific steak, their burgers are good and their grilled tuna sandwich is fabulous. If it weren't so expensive we might go there more often. That being said, the quality of food is so much better than nearby Talia's I cannot understand why it isn't more crowded.

    First and last time

Walked by this restaurant one evening on the way home from work. Surprised that I never heard of it through word of mouth since myself and friends all keep kosher and know almost all the kosher restaurants in and around NYC. Had a look at the menu which sounded fantastic. Went for dinner with two friends. The food is absolutely not what is represented on the menu. Ingredients used are not quality. Salads from a salad lunch bar in a deli is higher quality than what was served here. Steaks were all overcooked and drenched in a pile of gravy. Kindly advised waiter that I could not eat my steak in a heavy gravy ( assumed the sauce would be an edible/ reasonable amount when ordering) this looked like a meal at a homeless shelter. Which would be okay if it didn't have a $50 price tag. Owner came out and shouted loudly that he cannot replace the steak as he will need to throw it away and cannot afford to throw away food. He said there was nothing wrong with it and offered to rinse off the gravy. Dinner for three here cost close to $250 with drinks - (which was the savior of the evening) Disappointing food and poor management. Excellent crafted menu though. If only the chef cooked as well as the menu looked.

    Well worth it!

A bit pricey, but they all are. The food and service here are well worth it!

    Very nice over all!

Food was tasty, a bit overpriced - but hey it's a fancy place... only I found the servers to be a bit unprofessional. The decor is stunning and overall a very pleasant meal...I'll be back!

Was excited for a new kosher place...

We ordered in from Meat Me, and were really disappointed. The burgers (chicken and bison) were fine, cooked correctly, but the bread was unbelievably soggy by the time it was delivered, they, and the fries were stone cold. We live maybe 7 blocks from the restaurant. We also had the peking duck starter, and a SINGLE wonton for $16 is a little ridiculous. The prices were too high for the serving size and quality. If everything was 25% cheaper, it would feel about right.

    Don't believe bad reviews

My husband and I almost did not go to this restaurant due to limited to reviews. That would have been a huge mistake. Everything at this place was positive. The food was delicious ( try the sampler appetizer), the service excellent ( the waiter was pleasant and attentive and the food did not take forevr) and the atmosphere pleasing. We plan on going back and would highly recommend you do too!

    Great lunch

Great lunch specials-- only 12.95 for soup, main dish and soda. I've had the chicken and beef burgers (served with fries and salad) and they were excellent, as were the soup. Very pleasant ambience. Fr some reason they don't show the lunch specials in the window, but they give you the list along its the regular menu (which is twice as expensive) . A very good, pscale addition to the kosher scene on the OWS.
