We live on the Gulf Coast and visit NYC every year and every year for the past seven McAleer's has been our first stop after checking into a hotel. My wife has GOT to have one of those Killer Grilled Cheese sandwiches to get her NYC visit off on the right foot. I've tried a good portion of the menu and have never been disappointed. Service is friendly and the people watching, both in the bar and walking by on Amsterdam, is superior. We'll be there in 56 days and can't wait!

From the bartender to the food and service was awesome, super friendly environment one that made the six of us sitting at the bar like we were everyday regulars even though it was our first time there. prices were great considering being in the big apple, 10 dollar lunches and fairly priced drinks this is a must stop for any visitor, our group will be seeing McAleers everytime we go to the big apple. thanks again for the hospitality. your new R.I. Friends

Love my neighborhood bar - great draft selection and terrific bar food. With one exception: they took the delicious fried pickles off the menu! They were so great! Please bring 'em back!

Just happened to stop in while walking through the neighborhood...it was early afternoon on a Sunday & I ordered a Bloody Mary, asking if it could be made "spicy". It was the most amazing drink I've had in a long time! I will be back!

Keith and Cam were there nice cute couple. Besides Craig, the nephew, this is still a typical family run business. However, it's an older crowd. Maybe younger depending on the overflow from the neighboring sports bars on the UWS.

Stopped by for their brunch one Sunday. Mediocore and filling. We just wanted to catch the game really ... The owner and his girlfriend were there, very friendly and helpful about places to visit in the city. Not a destination spot, but typical dive pub.
