    Good times

Maya was as good as I remembered. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful. My husband and I will definitely visit Maya the next time we are in NYC.

Good food in a Bad Atmosphere

Went to dinner with my husband and in-laws tonight, and despite the delicious food, the atmosphere was terrible! The restaurant is so loud, even sitting in the furthest back corner doesn't help the inability to hear across the table! The service is efficient BUT rushed...don't plan to linger.

    This place rocks! Perfect.

I went with a friend last night and it was fabulous! Dangerously good - I blew out my low-carb diet. The shrimp was great, the beef, the dessert, the manchego dumplings (those were really good but I'm sure really fattening)... my friend got the tasting menu which was good if a bit overpriced (really a few small appetizers, an entree and a dessert for $50). The place was pretty, service fine (they filled my water glass more frequently than most places), etc. I recommend it and plan to go again as soon as I can.

    Great Fancy Mexican

Have been here many times. Agreed that the service is sometimes lousy and feel rushed but the margaritas are awesome and i've never tasted a better seafood stuffed chile relleno. The guac is great and must do the crepes for dessert with cinammon ice cream. You can't get burritos here - it's fancy - but when I'm in the mood for fancy mexican worth the tab.

    overrated

Overrated, poor entree selection. If you want good Mexican for the same money -- head over to Rosa Mexicana a couple of blocks downtown -- 3 times as many choices and nicer ambiance.

    I give it a 4.5

I am not sure about the people below me but this place is magnificant. By the way, If you go to any resturant on a holiday you get average service and food. The food here is excellent, the service is second to none, and the atmosphere is charming. We actually stayed and hung out at the bar for an hour or so after dinner. If you want a "cheap mexican dinner" try taco bell. This place is expensive but worth every penny.

    Forget this place

What a waste of money! So So food...horrible, inept, rushed, uncaring service...what's the draw here? I left a one cent tip. I will never ever go back there.
