Warning! Do not waste your money!

Have eaten in many restaurants in NYC. Went for breakfast with a group of girls. First of all, an omelet was on average 15.00! Nothing special. I ordered a spinach and feta cheese omelet. Spinach was bland and couldn't tell if the cheese was in fact feta or not! Coffee tasted like it sat around for days. Nothing was under 12.00! I understand this is NYC and don't mind paying the price, but this was bland and boring. Very disappointed and annoyed that I wasted a large amount of money!

    My Favorite in NYC

The food is great and the cheesecake is even greater. Maxie's is a wonderful restaurant, though a bit pricey. It is completely worth the bucks. Maxie's is a great "treat," not something affordable all the time. I had the Meatball Pizza, and it was amazing. The banana and marble cheesecakes are also spectacular. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits NYC!

    When Can I Move In?

I heard that this place was pretty good and eventually our group decided to go there. I had no clue what to order so I asked the waiter. He recommended the California something-or0other and it sounded good but was pricy. I got that anyways and am happy i did. Purely amazing. Use lots of dijon mustard.

    Fabulous Cheesecake!!

We stopped in for a slice of cheesecake before ending our day to NYC. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The waiter was very friendly and the macadamia nut rocky mountain cheesecake was out of this world!! The serving was HUGE and impressive. In true tourist fashion, we proceeded to take a picture of the cheesecake, when the owner? came over, confiscated our camera and took a picture of us enjoying the cheesecake. It was great and I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items on the menu. It may look pricey at first glance, but when you see the portion, you will know why . Here's a tip--Buy 1 item and split it with a friend. You'll be glad you did!

    regret

Please do not waste your time or money!! There is so much good food in NYC. I will say the cheese cake was good but it was the only one in the city I had. The meal though, I can not say enough about how disappointing the food was!!

    Impudent waitresses!

Warning to all! Do not. I repeat. Do not go to this place! Four of us had a meal on our last day of the thanksgiving holidays 2008. before returning home to the uk. The young waitress presented us with the bill whilst we were still eating and we had not requested it. At this, we did not order anything else. There were no top-ups to coffee like there used to be as we have been used to in our previous visits to this diner on past visits to new york. When we paid the bill we left a tip (begrudingly) of around 11% As we were putting on our coats this waitress came back with the bill on a plate with all the cash we gave her complaining that the tip was too small! She said she did not get paid to work there and relid on tips. I said so thats your problem. I said she had got the last of our change which I thought was generous considering her attitude. I told her tipping was for good service and not a right. I was that mad I nearly took it back from her. I told her to go away and be grateful for what she got. More people should take this stance at places like this.

    Subpar

Three of us went to Maxie's before seeing a Broadway show. This was a huge mistake! The hamburger would not even make it at the chain restaurant's down the street. The two others in my party found that the Chicken sandwich and the Turkey Rubin were just as bad if not worse. None of us ate our meals.
