Amazing
I always go to Max Brenner when ever I get the chance. Some of the tables are close together which makes it awkward between you and a stranger but the food is great, it's reasonably priced and the unique desserts are totally . I strongly recommend the hot chocolate. It's like drinking a chocolate bar!

Undoubtedly the best place in Midtown!
I went to Max Brenner - Chocolate by the Bald Man - on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30. The place was packed full with not an empty table in sight. We had a brief wait of 10 minutes or so. Once we sat down at the table our server was over immediately. It was the best service I ever had at a NYC restaurant. He had a bubbly personality, knew the menu inside and out, and helped us make decisions on what to get! My table started off with the beer-battered Vidalia onion rings with the chocolate ranch sauce. The rings were incredible and the sauce was ehh, okay. Something about chocolate in a savory dipping sauce didn't sit quite right with me, but I'm sure others would be delighted with it. Then, we had main courses: Sesame Salmon, Steak Panini, and Margherita Panina. The waffle fries were out of this world. The only downfall was the small serving of the fries.. We wanted more because they were so delicious! Then, the best part.. Dessert! We got the Banana and Hazelnut Cream Crepe, Chocolate Pizza (with the "works"), and the Chocolate Eggrolls. Everything was absolutely incredible! The crepe was definitely my favorite and next time I hope to try the waffles. All in all, the atmosphere, service, and food were outstanding and I'd recommend Max Brenner to ANYONE going to the lovely City of New York. P.S. On the way out, we stopped at the mini gift shop and got chocolate syringes to take home! Yes, chocolate syringes! A huuuuge syringe filled with their delightful milk chocolate that you microwave for 10 seconds then can squeeze into your mouth.. amazing!

eat in great- take out stinks
I love this place. It is one of my favorite places in NYC. The prices are on the high side, but really not worse then anywhere else in NY and the portions are huge. I have never had a bad meal here and have always found the wait staff to be polite. My biggest complaint is the take out. The take out/counter staff is nasty. It is not just one person either. I have taken out food multiple times and have dealt with multiple people and they have all been extremely rude. If you are going to go, eat in and avoid the take out at all costs.

Best food!
I love this place! I go here when ever I can. It's a little on the expensive side but the food is great! And the desserts are amazing! I love going to this place just because it smells so good. But it really is some of the best food I've had.

Rude staff
I have walked by this place 100 times and always meant to go in. I finally did, and will not be back. The staff (I got chocolates to go) were rude and apathetic. They acted like they were doing me a favor by waiting on me. The cashier took my chocolates and walked away, leaving me standing at the counter. She then called out, hello!?from the register 20 feet away. I almost walked out in principal but wanted to taste the chocolates, which were good but not worth that.

One of the best!
You haven't experienced NYC until you've had their chocolate-dusted nuts. Heaven on Broadway! I don't get to dine there as often as I would like because 1) they're expensive and 2) they don't take reservations to allow you to avoid the long wait during peak dining hours. That being said, I gladly give of my money and time when I am able! And you can always surpass the line and head right back to the mini-chocolate shop and pick up some WONDERFUL truffles (great romantic gift option, guys!!), gourmet hot chocolate powders, thos chocolate salty balls...I mean dusted nuts :-P...and so much more! The Colima is exquisite! The S'mores for two options are the cutest, most romantic thing! The Heart desserts are phenom (I'm partial to The Brown Heart)! And I'd gladly work my way through the menu one item (...and bank account...and pant size :-P) at a time! Definitely worth the wait and the crowds!

willy wonka and the chocolate factory-equivalent
this place is one of a kind pretty much. right when you walk in you smell chocolate. don't eat their actual foods (not the best and expensive). only go for the dessert menu, since it will be more fulfilling and more delicious than the regular food menu. the chocolate pizza, their fondues, and their chocolate chai are must haves!
