    The portions are getting......

smaller. much smaller. live v. close in the 'hood and do really like their pasta dishes, however, when you order take out/delivery the portions have become a bit embarrassing, especially given that it's just pasta. Let's Go Max, step it up w/ the portions pls, I'll judge how fat i'm getting, not you....

    Fantastic Pasta

I had the Fettucine As Sugo Toscano. Fantastic. Glad I found this!

    Good place

I like the food, but it is the only Italian restaurant in NYC that charges for parmesan cheese if you order delivery...totally short sited.

    Overpriced

Tried to be a decent repeat customer considering I live a few blocks away and am a big fan of Italian, but $24 to get a small appetizer and pasta delivered? You've got to be kidding me. To add further insult to injury, they insist on charging an extra $2 for some grated parmesan on the side and then repeatedly fail to include it with your order. Lived in Manhattan for almost 10 years and this is still the only place I've known to do it. What a complete joke. Way too many other quality places nearby to keep wasting my time with this place. Arrivederci.

    Poor service

The help wanted ad for max must say charming people need not apply. The food is good (inconsistent for delivery) but whether weve gone in there with kids or ordered takeout and dealt via phone, the staff is just plain unwelcoming, leaving no charm to this place which is really a shame. Once we were there with out of town friends around 5pm when the place was empty and the people working acted as if they preferred the place empty. During dinner, one of our friends daughters (4?) changed her mind that she wanted some tomato sauce for her pasta and butter. The waiter told us he was gonna have to charge us for a full side of sauce. Really? Cmon. It was just the principle. Not to mention the pasta she ordered was the same price with or without sauce. So he was gonna charge us basically twice the price than if she ordered it with sauce to start with. She was 4. And then on 2 separate times ordering rigatoni ragu for delivery i received a whopping 12-13 pieces of pasta despite a bath of sauce. After the hr it took to show i needed another 20 mins to cook more pasta. I wish this place could put improve the attitude and consistency because the food can be good.

    Below Average

Just doesn't make the cut for NYC. The sauce is bland, and the pasta is too thick. I actually hated the garlic toast.

    Love this place!

Their food is just so delicious. I recently had the antipasti special, which was a plate full of delights! I've eaten here a number of times and it never disappoints.
