    Sides are really lacking

The food isn't as good as it used to be. I was a regular years ago, but stopped going because the quality had gone down significantly. The pork chops were still great (eventhough there is now 1 instead of 2), but the sides are not good. The mac and cheese had no chease. It was noodles and water. The mashed potatoes are from a box. The calamari were like tiny rubber bands. Disappointed.

    Good neighborhood staple

I have eaten here a few times and have been satisfied each time. Drinks are reasonably priced (beer and wine) and of good quality. The service was great- attentive, nice and informative. So far I have had the crab cakes, turkey burger, quesadillas and chicken fingers. All have been good. I will continue to be a repeat customer.

    Delicious and Inexpensive

I took 2 friends from out of town. I had a burger with cheese & bacon. My friends had chicken pot pie & meatloaf. Each of us really enjoyed what we had. I had a hard time deciding as there was also fried calamari and chicken. There is also roast chicken and other (non-fried) dishes for those so inclined. The prices and service were great. I'd definitely recommend this place & have already.

This place is consistently good - food is great, service quick, nice atmosphere whether at the bar or at a table.

    Beats working

We are here much more than we are in the office. Thank god our firm doesnt know we are not doing a lick of work while here all the time. Great burgers and booze.

Matts Grill Three Stars In My Book

Even as I speak, I can see there were a poor reviews for this restaurant. Frankly, we went there on 27 December 07 and had a fantastic meal, just like our friends who have been there several times before. The service was excellent, the food arrived in generous portions and was delicious. So, I can only think poor reviews were there on a bad day. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Good, overpriced food

Matt's is a good local hangout, but I feel like the owner doesn't care too much about his customers. For instance, substituting a salad for fries with the $12 burger costs $4 extra. It's a small salad, and it used to be free. He knows this upsets the customers--even the waitresses talk about it. The food is reliable and good, the bartenders are friendly and efficient. Like most bars, the kitchen is pretty slow. Expect to wait 20 minutes or more for even simple dishes.
