Great beer and whiskey hang out spot
Williamsburg is full of bars long on style and short on substance. Matt Torrey's has both. I started drinking here almost two years ago and it's my favorite neighborhood spot. Great beer selection and bourbon too. The local bands are a nice addition. The food menu is good but mainly an afterthought. They don't mind if you order takeout though or bring your own, so if you want to really eat, that's your best bet. This is a spot where everyone knows your name. The previous reviewer's comments seem respectfully off mark. How many great bars really have juke boxes anymore, really? Probably just a hipster looking for another faux-dive bar to drink PBR in at $5 a can. Best wishes on your search.

Boring
This place was boring. No jukebox so you have to listen to the bartenders ipod. No good happy hour special. The place has a stuffy feeling, like an upper east side type bar- the owner may even be an ex-frat guy, that's the feel of the place. sorry
