I work in the area and know how hard it is to find a good, reasonably priced sushi lunch. This place has great quality and prices. When I eat in, they're always prompt and get you your food quickly. I've only been there during the work day, when it's hopping, but I've never had to wait very long for a table.

I have been ordering in and dining at Matsu for 3 years now. I always try to find other sushi places but wind up back at Matsu. The rolls are delicious and the sushi is always fresh. I would highly recommend Matsu!

I have been going to Matsu for many years- since it was a hole in the wall with 4 tables. Matsu has ALWAYS been consistently excellent . I have NEVER had a bad experience at Matsu. They have fresh fish, an extensive menu and good prices- what more can you ask for. They are amenable to altering rolls, and always present your meal is a pleasing way. My husband and I have become friendly with the owner since we have been coming here for so long, and he and his staff always make us feel welcome. We recently moved to New Jersey and still drive into the city for Matsu as often as we can. We have yet to find anything else that is as enjoyable an experience.

I've been eating at Matsu for 3 years. It's always consistent, they've never once messed up a take out order, even with changes to certain rolls. Their diverse roll selection cannot be matched and it's always super fresh! I'm a huge fan! I've ventured out to try other places, but I always end up back here- it's a definitely all time fav!

As far as sushi places go, and I have more than frequented my fair share -- my caveats for this place applies to their "specialty" rolls. Anything with "crunch" has got too much of the crunch leaving this unsettling greased out aftertaste on your palate -- sorta like having downed a large order of diner fries and not a sushi roll. Their house creations tend to veer onto the sweeter side of things. They infuse a lot of fruit (bananas, mango peices) into their house rolls. Sweet + raw fish? not my thing. Outside of that, the quality of the fish is always fresh. Place is charming, dimly lit -- dare I even say 'romantic', service is consistently decent and prices are moderate for the area (UPE). Bon appetit!

We discovered this place via Menu Pages even though we only live 2 blocks away. We've ordered a few more times since and then ate at the restaurant and was delighted. Yes, it may be Americanized sushi but the rice and fish are fresh, the service very friendly and prices quite reasonable. I even enjoy the nice delivery bag with rope handles!
