Lazy and unappealing cooking. Tom Yum soup with vegetables and lemon grass was a bowl of broth predominated flavored with ketchup. There were two tough, probably microwaved shrimp, accompanied by slices of button (not shitake or straw) mushrooms, and small cubes of fresh supermarket tomatoes. Vegetable tempoa featured oversized slices of sweet potato, eggplant, broccoli, dipped inheavy batter and unappitizingly served with an unspiring dip.

We have been regulars for years. Order 1-2x per week. We have been to dozens of sushi places in the city, and matsu is by far best bang for the buck. Always fresh, always delicious. Highly recommend both eat in and delivery.

Walked in thinking this was a low key restaurant that would be "okay" and was very pleasantly surprised! What a cute little hidden find! The atmosphere is great and the food fantastic! I highly recommend Matsu to sushi lovers - a new favorite spot on the UES!

Great little place. While there is not a lot of seating, this place is always crowded around lunchtime as it gets a lot of business from the hospital. The rolls are very fresh and the lunch special is one of the best deals in town.

I eat here on a regular basis and have yet to be disappointed. The food is delicious, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. King crab appetizer, baby oyster and Aji are my favorite dishes. I definitely recommend Matsu.
