Great service!
My husband and I come here every time we come to NYC. The staff recognized us 5 months after our first visit. The food is consistently good, the service outstanding, the atmosphere great, and the zabaglione is to die for.

One of my favorite neighborhood go-tos
I have been going to Ponte Vecchio since moving into the neighborhood about a year ago. I love the service as well as the food. I spent 6 months living in Italy and the food is as good as anything I have eaten there with interesting and different specials. I can see why some reviewers think that portions are a little small, but in reality they are normal sized portions and just the huge ridiculous American sized pasta portions. My boyfriend also loves the restaurant. He is a huge eater and doesn't think that the portions are too small. All in all a great spot to come back again and again :)

Will never return even though OK food
Four of us had a delicous meal, good atmosphere, but very poor service. One of our party ordered a bronzini and asked twice for the head to be left on...and they forgot. When it came, they asked that it be de- boned, and 10 minutes later they brought it back with the bones on a separate plate!!! We let this one slide. However, when we ordered a second cup of coffee, they charged us for it. We have eaten in hundreds of restaurant in NYC and never has this happened before. We asked for the owner, and he was sitting with the other waiters but denied that he was the owner, and flagged me off. We have an event in October for 45 people where this place would be perfect, but there is a ZERO chance that we will ever go back there...and we'll surely tell our friends.

Amazing
I was taken here on a first date, a few years ago, with not much expected. The food was amazing, veal fromaggi (off the menu), gnocchi goronzola, penne vodka...the most amazing italian ever. And, a few years later when we decided to get married, they were MORE than accomodating to our small party last minute with a special menu and spectuacular service. ALWAYS a local favorite, a great meal and feel like family. Massimo (the owner) is a great guy and Paolo is the greatest server. We always feel like an extension of the family when we dine. We will be dining here all the time, every year, even into our old ages. The best Italian restauarant. Period.,

This was long overdue
I don't quite remember how me and another French friend discovered this place in the first place 3 years back. First time around I was a student and when i finshed my meal, i felt - expensive but yet the best italian meal ever. Second time I went there was coz i found a job and thought i need to treat my BF to a good italian food. Well since then have been there many many times on all sorts of occasions, with friends, bf, uncle and lately with my Husband 2 days back. I felt I owed this place a great review and I suck coz I have been lazy to write one earlier. Having given the background, let me reiterate that I went to Italy for my honeymoon and i think this place in west village still serves the best Italian food, even better than anything I ate in rome or venice. Sounds exaggerated is it? But well I am not an Italian but I love Italian food and try it in all cities, towns, countries and I do feel this is the best ever made... however I do agree portions are small when compared to a typical American Italian place..but trust me rather than ahuge plate of Pasta that tastes like regular noodles in tomatoe sauce i would have a small plate of delicious mouth watering pastas and raviolis with a base that I still can not understand how they make. I once tried this Special walnut and pumpkin ravioli which they havent made again coz i think that was for valentines... or something and was awesome.. Last time I tried A pasta with Shrimp with a hint of curry in it and creamy sauce... ( forgot the name) was delicious and thats what prompted me to write this review... Appatizers have this fantastic riccota cheese and aubergines (aubergines make me say Yeck but not this one trust me) On the dessert menu- I have a fav, that I searched in the whole of italy and NY but guess what this is a special granmoms recipe that no one makes in restaurants except these guys-- Called Zabaglione - Awesome. the best thing abt this place is their Zabaglione Sorry abt a review that took me 3 years to write.. but i am not much of a writing person.. however I have taken all my friends, family, colleagues to this place :)

Not happy
It was our weekly date night and we wanted Italian food. I read all these great reviews so we decided to go. when we got there they had only two tables and sat us in an area to be alone. It was so nice and seemed like a place we would come back real soon. Then our waiter walked over, asked us what we wanted to drink. We weren't in the mood for wine so we had seltzer water ($3.50 for an 8 oz bottle), he didn't seem happy we didn't want to drink. We had to ask him several times to repeat the specials since he kept looking else where while telling us. We just ordered from the menu at that point. the food was good but it wasn't enough at all. The plates were very small and for the prices we should of had a lot more. the plates was a little bigger than the average appetizer plate. Then a party of 5 came in. They sat them right next to us and only two other tables had been occupied. I was very upset and didn't even have dessert. We paid our $60 bill and left and will never go back.

Great little Italian place!
Very good food in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Excellent pumpkin ravioli! The best part was the service. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and made great recommendations.
