Tasty treats - unlike other Indian

I order from here regularly. This is truly a gem of a place serving food that is actually *tasty*. I would say some of the itmes here are better than what you would get in a VERY good restaurant in Bombay. Forget the standard fare, try some of the new kababs. My favorites: - Lamb chops (yumm) - the shrimp are to die for - Achari kebabs - Malai tikka (incredibly tender) While the kababs are top notch I stay away from the entrees which tend to be oily and drowned with color. Overall one of the best Indian places in the city

Amazing Indian food in the Village!

Love this place - the food is awesome- - have been looking for a good, reasonably priced indian restaurant around the village - having tried many and been very disappointed stumbled into Masala times on Bleecker street and Macdougal - by far the best Indian food I have eaten in the village for the money - it has a great home cooked feel to its food - if you go I would recommend including the lamb bhuna roll (Chocolate boy $5.99) simple, cheap but amazing flavour! and the guy behind the counter is charming. This is definitely a massive addition to the west village food scene and needs to be supported.

    Bring back the Tangdi Kebab!

This place is every bit the great little find the other reviewers have suggested. Never actually eaten in the restaurant, but I get delivery constantly. My only complaint is really a compliment in disguise: Bring back the Chicken Tangdi Kebab bbq chicken drum sticks! Everything on the menu is great, but those were even better...

    Wow!

Nothing more can be said but WOW!!..Owner/Manager is cool..he really knows how to cook and is very friendly...jokes a lot..Food is awesome. Classy street food. My group and me have made this our regular weekend hang-out place after bar hopping in the village.

    yum

Food, Service, Decor, sum it up= AWESOME! Came for lunch with the group last friday the manager/owner whipped us the best tastiest dishes one could have for indian food. Though they were busy with a lot of tourist groups, he still managed to get our food out on time and made it so perfectly indian well. Onda burji (Egg wrapped in paratha bread )was awesome ad perfectly spiced. Chicken tikka masala mmmmmm yummmmy. Very generous portions. Nice decor and good food.

    witty and tasty

We always love these new little places where the food is great and the staff and owners are earnest. I hope they stay on their game and do great business for many many years. The decor is very clever, bordering on cutsy and there are only a few tables. The food is fantastic, especially the chicken malai kebab.
