A+++++ The smell of wood burning lures you in. The food is perfect. Unlike many restaurants the food is not over salted nor over sauced, balance personified. The portions are perfect for a tasting menu and the service is amazing. The chef let's the protein speak for itself. This is a gem! Do not listen to negative reviews because this place is amazing. A wonderful evening and the customer is treated with respect. Love this place!

When you are greeted by the sweet fragrance of wood burning as you enter, you are being set up for disappointment. The food lacks hearty flavor, the portions are minuscule, and the meal never lives up to your first impression. The offerings are uninspired and the cuisine falls short of the stated vision. Service was attentive, but they are really hawking overpriced wines and an accidental gouging on the final bill did not seem entirely inadvertent.

I was watching the Rangers game tonight with a couple girlfriends, and in hockey there are "power plays"…so we got to talking. In my (our) opinion, Mas La Grillade is a total "power play" for a man. It’s by far one of the most impressive restaurants I have ever been to… from the grilled oysters, which are apparently an aphrodisiac… to the outstanding Hen of the Woods Mushrooms… and finally the dessert. Who doesn't want to share grilled ice cream? I'm not a person who often writes reviews, but this place is FULFILLING in more ways than one! West Village, ridiculously delicious grilled food, sexy lighting and amazing service…Check please! (but only after dessert) :)

Mas La Grillade sets a new standard for flavor. You might think you know what a dish is supposed to taste like, but La Grillade will force you to step back and appreciate subtleties that you never even knew existed. Couple that with a stunning dining space and a staff that's well-versed on just about everything, and Mas La Grillade has become my "go-to" spot for a big date. Dare you to try the grilled oysters and not leave the restaurant with a smile on your face.

I am a huge fan of Mas Farmhouse, it is truly one of the great restaurants in New York, so I was extremely excited to try La Grillade. Sadly, this is one of the great disappointments in New York. The service was subpar, the waiter was unfriendly and did not seem to understand the menu, a sharp contrast with Farmhouse. The food was good, but not spectacular, perhaps with more guidance we would have had a better meal. When we finished my friends who were visiting from California (one is an executive at the Food Network) summed it up by saying "I feel slightly taken advantage of" ... not a good sign. Go to Farmhouse, you will be delighted. I hope that they straighten out La Grillade, it is a bit shocking how different the experience can be.

Went to Mas La Grillade saturday night and loved it! I can't say enough good things about it. My taste buds were the happiest they've been all year. I will definitely go back.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mas (la grillade) this weekend and was completely blown away by the food, service, and decor. I had the grilled artichokes with smoked mayonnaise, a grilled whole fish, the hen of the wood mushrooms, and a wine pairing that varied with each course. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. In short, the place has become my new go-to spot. I have never eaten at any place like this before and really cannot wait to return again. Thank you to everyone at Mas (la grillade) for making my evening special.
