    Great local yocal place

Talk about a diamond in the ruff! Such a quaint restaurant! People come based on word of mouth because they have such excellent experiences! It's almost like a diner for fish! The waitresses are all knowledgable about the fish and wine selections. Sitting at the bar is exciting as you get to watch the kitchen staff put all the meals together. Get there early though. If you arrive past 6pm, you'll have to wait in line - but it is well worth the wait. Since they don't take reservations, they call you when your table is ready so that you don't have to wait outside.

One of the best has fallen

I loved this place! Went to Mary's at least once a week but I noticed a slip in food quality and the service has gotten progressively worse....dunno what to say.

    Rude Yuppie Paradise

One meal here was ok, after the hostess got around to acknowledging our presence and after the waitress bothered to take our order. The lobster was adequate, but this is no Cape Cod eatery it would like to be. I tried to give it another shot on two occasions, hopefully on off nights, but ran into the same RUDE attitude at the door from indifferent waitrons. In addition, the place is full of gas-brained supermodels, obnoxious yuppies and tourists who keep a perpetual screaming match going to see who can yell the loudest. What a waste of west village real estate.

    Great meal

Point blank, I had one of my best meals ever at MFC. The food was outstanding(oysters, fried oysters/clams, lobster knuckles, bouillabase-spelled wrong, and the maryland crab something-crag with cream and cheese) Oysters fresh-great shaved horesradish, cheap 1/2 dozen for $10, crispy not over cooked fried clams and oyster, a big bowl of chilled(which let me eat at my lown pace) lobster legs, and a (going to spell it wrong again) bouillabase whish had a tasty light broth with razor/littleneck clams, calamari, sole, lobster tail, 2 shrimp and a nice rouille. The crab was nothing more then crab meat(nice portion) cream sacue and cheese but tasted great. Service was raw but competent. I went early to avoid a long wait. Iwork in the industry at an upscale seafood restaurant and MFC was a better value and better food. I hope our guests don't find out about this wonderful restaurant.
