    Tasty but overpriced

Just came back from lunch and I am still agape from the ridiculous price of the lobster roll. Granted, the lobster meat is good but $27 for what amounts to lobster salad on a hot dog bun along with mediocre thin-cut fries is sick. Sometimes this city is just an embarrassment of ridiculous consumption and I felt that I was part of that today.

    27 dollar lobster salad roll?

If you are from New England this dish is laughable. A small lobster salad roll with these thin potato french fries just on the plat to be cute. I mean I had one it was good but the bill was 27 $. I wouldnt mind the price because I know it is nyc however at least make the dish something like you would find driving up the maine coast in the summer. This just isnt it.

    $200 later... hungry & angry

We love Pearl Oyster, when we heard about Mary's we had to check it out, the first time we attempted to dine the hostess was so unfriendly we left. So we gave it a 2nd chance but she still had an attitude... until we starting orderig a lot of food then she was nice...but the second are plates cleared she was nasty again I couldn't believe it...plus the lobster was supposed to be 1 1/2lbs ($32) and it was definetly not..Outraged and cheated was how i felt, it was dry & didnt come with any side dish. The food was average and overpriced, they didnt offer to put our wine on ice &it was room temp.

Not what is used to be

I’ve been going to this place almost from the day it opened. Used to be a great food and OK service. This is not the case anymore. The food is still quite decent, but become much more expensive. I think they raise their prices twice in the last year. Lobster roll is $28. Give me a break. The service is OK once you are at the table, but God forbid you ask why they are not open at 6:05 (they should be open at 6:00) or need to use a restroom while waiting for restaurant to open they become quite rude and unpleasant. The staff behaves like they don’t care about their customers. If you don’t come somebody else will. Yesterday was the last time I ever ate there.

    OK food, but overpriced

Previous reviewer is spot on. Compared to this place's reputation, the food is lacking and overpriced ($28 for a lobster roll? Come on). I thought the service was ok. Atmosphere is unclean diner.

Double whammy - poor attitude & poor food

Agree with previous reviewer....the hostesses / waitresses can be snots.... come on it's a fish shack not a michelin star restaurant. Lobster roll was drowned in mayo and lacked taste, fried clams were chewy, the only respite was the shoestring fries. But with such attitude - I would not recommend anyone entering this place.

    Excellent place for fish!

It's easy: Choose one of the daily specials (daurade and red snappers are very well cooked and available almost ever). Order a glass of cava (spanish sparkling white wine). Finish with the over-the-top banana pudding. You can't be dissapointed. Warning: If you don't know how to eat a whole fish (which would be pathetic), don't go. Do NOT order octopus, they don't know how to cook it, it's rubbery. The service is friendly.
