    I love MaryAnn's

I've dined at MaryAnn's many a time and I love it! The owner is such a sweet man and talks to me every time I come in. I love the tacos and margaritas. This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC!

    So so everything

I saw this place packed last weekend so tried it out tonight. They forgot the chicken in the chicken burrito (Gloria's burrito) and then proceeded to just bring some pieces of chicken to the table instead of remaking the entire burrito. They weren't super apologetic about the whole thing either. We also got the Reade St. which was more of a sampler platter. It was alright and nothing to write home about except that the dish had cooled off too much already by the time I got it and so the cheese in chile relleno had already turned into nearly a solid block.

    Subpar Mexican

Why is it so hard to get a decent plate of nachos? I recently ordered delivery from here and for about $30 received two unappetizing chicken nacho plates. For some reason they think mexican chicken nachos means a few giant pieces of plain grilled chicken breast atop a mound of chips and cheese. This food has no Mexican flavor, and isn't even properly assembled. It is expensive and poorly done.

Expect great food, not great service.

My wife and I went here for a mid-afternoon lunch on a Friday. We were seated right away, the dining room was semi-crowded but by no means packed. It took 2 tries to get our drink order (a complicated combination of Diet Coke and water). The food was EXCELLENT! Great fresh salsa. excellent dishes (chimichanga and enchiladas) with some of the tastiest hot sauce I've sweat my way through so far in NYC. But...the meal was tainted a bit by slow unattentive service. It took forever to get our drink orders, I had to ask a server from another table to refill our drinks when our server could not be found. Like I said, great food and a great meal if you can ignore some bad service. Of course...that's why you have a choice as to how much you tip!

    Disappointing

Mary Ann's food quality sways like the wind. Sometimes it's decent, and sometimes it's truly poor. Today, it was truly poor. We ordered the steak chimichanga and chicken fajita. The chimichanga was basically burnt steak on a tortilla, swimming in a greasy rice, beans and cheese concoction. The chicken fajita had more green peppers and onions than chicken, which was so dry the only way to eat it was by drowning it in salsa and sour cream. We also ordered chips and salsa, which could have been good except that we received a shot glass -size container of salsa, enough for about 5 chips.

    Great food, Poor service

Although the food was excellent and plentiful, the service was almost completely absent. Great vegetarian menu but the Manager does not allow any substitutions (unlike other Mary Ann's I've been to). The wait staff was nice, however they were completely absent despite the empty restaurant. No one came to fill our waters, or ask us if we wanted any other drinks throughout the entire meal.

    Best when Delivered

Mary Ann's is a terrific mexican delivery place. They are prompt, the meals are sizable and they also include a huge portion of freshly cooked tortilla chips which you can store in a ziploc bag for days. The guacamole is worth noting and an inexpensive addition to a meal. Sometimes have a problem placing an order as their English is not great. Otherwise good mex-pick.
