Great everyday sushi place
I've been ordering take-out from this restaurants for a few years, averaging 2-3 times a week. When I first started the quality was already good, and it's been steadily improving. I've also eaten at the restaurant a couple of times. The restaurant staff is attentive and nice, and so are the delivery peoeple. This is my go-to place.

Best sushi in MH
Basically, we order from here 2 to 3 times a week. We order in more often but have eaten there more than a dozen times. Amazing salmon. I was reading the reviews and they are accurate with regards to speed of delivery, quality of food (great for local neighborhood find) and the staff couldnt be nicer. We used to travel up to Suzu but were delighted to find the sister restaurant in our neighborhood. I dont want them to get so busy that I dont get my food within the avg 15 min delivery time, but then again, they deserve to be higlighted! I will be sad when we move, this place is a staple in our diet!

Great Sushi in Kips Bay
Consistently prepared food, excellent service, friendly staff, and clean restaurant. Deliveries are quick and are well packed regardless of the weather or time of order. Delivered sushi always arrives cool and the soup piping hot. As an added bonus, deliveries over $30 include a free California roll. The eat-in service is good and the staff is friendly. The lunch menu (ends 3:30 PM) is a great bargain for eat-in or takeout.

Best ordering in!
I order in from here about once a week. The special rolls are huge, tasty, and a great value. The food comes really quickly and is always fresh. I think this is some of the best sushi in Murray Hill! Also, if you order $30 or more they throw in a free california roll! Never been the the restaurant, so i can't say much about the atmosphere.

Solid Sushi - Great Service
This isnt your Yasuda / Kurumazushi - knock your socks off - type sushi place. But that being said, it is a very solid neighborhood choice. Service is excellent, delivery is fast. I've probably ordered from here about 20 times.

Not recommended
Read Marino's review below, 8/2005, and I add the following to his message since it is 100% accurate. [Marino's message] The maguro (tuna) served was the area of the tuna which is a dark opaque red, not the normal cut; the white fish was not very good, looked like it had been long before, and the rice under (i put wasabi under the fish) the fish was discolored. The Eel sashimi was not cooked -- I have never seen uncooked unagi!

Very Good And Reasonably Priced Food
My experience at Maru Maru has been uniformly good - it's near my office and it is my favorite lunch spot. The fish is fresh, the rice is good, neither too hard nor mushy, miso soup is excellent. The lunch special Sushi/Sashimi combo is a great deal at under $12.00. The service is great, very friendly, fast, and competent. The ambience leaves a bit to be desired, since it's a bit small and right on the street, but the price and quality make up for this. Very highly recommended.
