Unpleasant Service
While the food was delicious, the service was the worst. I had brunch at Marseille and had made a reservation for 5 people. We got there on time but had to wait for another 15-20 minutes, which was not SO bad. However, our waiter did not arrive for about 15 minutes after that, when he asked us what he could start us off with to drink. We had already been ready to order food for some time at that point and did so. He said he would bring us some bread, which he did about 10 minutes after that--exactly at the same time our food was coming out. He appeared maybe twice more; if you asked me what he looks like, I probably couldn't tell you since his appearances were so few and far between. The food was reasonably good and hearty, and a good value for brunch. They also had good bread/rolls/muffins.

Gives French a bad name
My husband slipped in after the theatre hoping for a romantic and delicious meal We didn't get either. First the bread. Cold sliced rye and wheat like from a deli. Can't get much worse. I had the steak frites. It came to the table raw with French fries so over cooked they were hard and se sauce they indicated was bernaise. Could have fooled me. When they took the meat back to cook it they left the fries so they were cold by the time I got the steak which by the way was full of veins and gristle. My husband ordered the chicken pallaird. In his words just ok and he wouldn't come back. Guess that makes two of us. To many good restaurants in ny to bother with this one.

Wonderful, Tasty Experience.
I had a wonderful experience here. I had the roasted chicken with mushrooms, baby potatoes and walnuts. I'm glad that I made reservations because it started filling up and getting busy.

Wonderful French bistro
Delicious food & great service, you'll get it all here. Don't go before 8pm, it's full of tourists rushing thru their pre-theater service. But after eight, this place transforms into a romantic French bistro. Food is delicious and quite different from their sister restaurant Nice Matin. All dishes we've tried were well executed, and portions were just right. The wine list runs on a pricey side, but you can still find reasonable selections. The service is very attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a place to return to over & over.

nice place
I have been to Marseille about three times and have loved every experience. The food is tasty and I love the dimly lit ambiance at night. Definitely recommend for a date.

As nice as could be
My husband and I just dined at Marseille last night and had such a nice time. We actually arrived quite late (after 11:00 pm) because we had been Christmas shopping. But they said it was no propblem as they serve the full menu until Midnight. That is so nice, because we are late eaters anyway and it is just nice to be able to pop in somewhere and have a real dinner even at so late an hour. We both decided on the Prix Fixe as it had so many options and was such a bargain. ($35.00). My husband had the smoked duck which was really delicious and I had the steak frites which I love. We had the soup du jour for appetizer which was a puree of some sort and very tasty. It was all so wonderfully done. The service was outstanding. I think we had 8 people taking care of us. I felt like they thought we were somebody special. It was almost too much! (just kidding) The desserts were great too. What a nice time. And even though we were the only ones in there at 12:30, they let us sit and linger as long as we wanted and didn't rush us at all. It just left me with a pleasant feeling and a desire to go back again and again. Which I will definitely do.

Class Act Through And Through
Marseille is the embodiment of what a fine restaurant should be- beautiful surroundings, picture-perfect service and well-uted food. However, the prices are a bit on the high side for its 9th Avenue location, and the wine list is also on the pricey side. Still, I've been there twice and I will definitely go back again.
