Mars 2112 (CLOSED)

We went here with 2 families in January. The wait wasn't bad. But that's where it ended. The food & drinks were horribly expensive. The food was OK at best. Don't waste your time or money here. it was NOT worth it all

went on 2/13/08 as part of a day with the kids (8 & 4) in the city. After reading reviews I didn't want to try it but my husband talked me into it and I'm so glad he did. We had no wait time and the place was unbelievable. The space ship ride was a surprise for my family. The older child liked it, but the 4 year old was a little nervous. When we got inside it was incredible. The place was clean and the staff was very nice and professional. Martians walked around while you were eating and my little one was afraid. One came over and talked to him putting him at ease and therefore letting me get a picture. I was very thankful. At one point all the martians and staff were called in front of the restaurant. They put on a dance number. It was great. Food for kids was good, adults ehhh but tolerable. Prices were high, we were in Manhattan so we weren't surprises. I think either they have changed management and cooks or read the other reviews but I was pleasantly surprises. I would definetely recommend this to anyone who wants to experiance NYC with the kids. (I would have tried it without them lol)

This place was soooo cool, my class went here and we loved it. We really liked how the waiters and watresses dressed up like real aliens and acted like them too! When we first went on the website, the whole class enjoyed the story behind this reasturant, it got us in the "future" mood, so we were ready when we got there. The website also showed what foods there were at the reasturan tbefore we got there so we were ready to order so we could easily get out of the reasturant at the time we needed to be at our next event. The foods looked a lot like they were from the future and tasted great too! They had a great [select]ion that kids will actually eat and be happy doing so. The adults also liked it a lot. When we first got there, we thought it was really just a kid's resturant, but it turned out they had foods that the adults would like too. We all loved how they made the whole resturant look like it was from the future, and mostly the fact that it was underground! When you walked in the door, you felt like an alien yourself! The service was fast and everyone was very nice, from finding a seat, to leaving with our stomaches full of exciting and interesting foods. Everyone in our class LOVED it and we would recomend it to all school groups and even induviduals just looking for a nice night out on the town. this is the stuff of third rate theme parks. there's no point in even discussing the litany of food and service issues. suffice it to say, if you're a family with male children, preferably from out of town, you may have a good time here. anybody else, there is nothing at all here for you.....

A port in a storm for two tired families in mid-town after a show-- about the only thing going for it. The wait staff was nice and helpful but harried. "Decor" and costuming abominable-- tired and of interest only to pre-schoolers. Food came fast but was fairly awful. Dark and dirty and crowded-- overall a big YUK.

Unless you have kids and a lot of money to spend, I wouldn't bother going. I went with a group of friends (all in our 20's) and the overall experience was ok. The staff was great and really friendly but the cost of food was over priced and mediocre. I've had better food for much less. The decor is lame and out dated. I swear I was sitting at a folding table covered with a black leather table cloth. My chair might has well been a folding chair to match. I definitely won't go back unless the food and decor improve to match the value.

My children and I were disappointed with this place We went yesterday and regretted it. The $11 plate of macaroni & cheese was not even edible (way undercooked). We were given a lot of bad information at the front desk (from a host); like that we can take the ride on the way out and skip the ride (and wait in), only to be told later there is no ride out.
