Mars 2112 (CLOSED)

It's funny how the food on Mars tastes just like the stuff that's served here on Earth. Be warned that this novelty place is geared towards kids and tourists, so don't expect to experience any gourmet or authentic nyc food here. My wife recommended coming to this restaurant because she's a kid at heart and wanted to see what Mars really looked like. As you climb down the stairs to visit this restaurant, you'll notice that the theme is Mars and space adventure with an alien space ship hovering outside. A line forms to enter the restaurant where customers are strapped into space ships (which are really flight simulators) and flown to Mars. If you get queasy by riding on these bumpy noisy rides then use the walk through side entrance into the restaurant where it's labelled as "Hyperspace". As you exit and reach Mars, you'll notice alot of dimly lit caverns and caves dedicated to different parts of the restaurant such as the bar or the kid's arcade. The main dining area is a huge pit to simulate a crater on the planet. There's alot of noisy music in the background and a large screen in front playing various vintage movie scenes. Also, there are employees dressed up as martians and astronauts who walk around to meet and greet the kids. The choices on the menu are average at best and most are pre-cooked and require a minute or two in the microwave to heat and bring to your table. Make sure to come back in one piece when you're beamed back down to earth.

The ride in the beginning on the journey and the great atmosphere makes this restaurant a great place for kids!
