great falafel
went here for lunch today, after searching many times for good middle eastern in midtown east, and was very impressed. falafel was the best I've ever had.

Best chicken kebab
I ordered through Seamlessweb.com the chicken kebab combo platter with hummus falafel and rice, chicken was so juicy and delicious, falafel crunchy light and flavorful and hummus was one of the best. I also had a delicious Moroccan soup.

Excellent Service
The service is excellent and the people are very polite and hospitable. The soups are great and if you are looking for a fast cheap meal this is the place to go. However the main menu items seemed to have suffered a lot since we were there last year. The kebabs were dry and were not as tasty as before. The rice could have been better. Even the hammous was kind of beany tasting. Time to call in the old cook.

Quick and good, but not great.
They are fairly quick for take out, never ate there or had delivery though. The food is very bland though..what a bummer..but hey you do get a lot of bland food for your money :)

Disappointment is an understatement
My friend and I were looking forward to great hummus and falafel after the great reviews. We could not have been more disappointed! The only thing that was good was the service.

steemed veggies
we went for dinner - ordered the chicken coucous (got lamb instead) it was good. the vegetable coucous was soggy and the vegetables were steamed - no flavor at all. no music and very drab interior. for cheap food that fills.. it's worth the $.

Definately worth it
After browsing the midtown area for a good middle eastern restaurant for lunch, my mom and I decided to try out Marrakesh because it seemed to get pretty good reviews and the price was inexpensive. The restaurant has no more than 15 tables, but it was packed, luckily we didn't have to wait. We instantly saw the generous portion size and decided to split a platter. We went for the chicken and lamb kebab combo, which came with hummus, babbaganoush, and falafel with a choice of rice and/or salad (we went with the salad since it also came with pita bread). We were stuffed by the time we left for $8 a person. The kebab is flavorful and juicy and the hummus is homemade and much better than many other places I have tried in nyc. Only complaint is that service is very slow (there is one person working there) but definately a great place to go to for lunch if you're in the area. Definately recommend
