overpriced
Food is good enough. However everything is about 10-15% marked up from what it should be.

a major disappointment
I came ready to be pleased. In general, the food was too salty. The sauce on the linguine was abysmal. The rioja fell short. Dessert was the only good part. The staff was friendly and patient, though.

AMAZING FOOD!
We loved the food here. I read all the reviews before we went tonight and have to say they were right about the food. It was amazing and I'm hard to please. The Brick Chicken was so tender and crispy. The pasta special was incredible. If it's on the menu, do yourself a favor and order the fried corn and/or liver pate - to die for. Also. the salted caramel tart was a perfect ending to the meal. As for the service, we didn't have a problem at all. The waitress wasn't always easy to find, but she was pleasant and attentive. Even though it took us 45 minutes to get there, it was worth the trip.

why must you be so small?
this place is small. the menu is small. you may think that $20 is a lot for brick chicken. maybe you are right....but it is so tender and juicy and almost worth it (can't they toss more than 4 pieces of veggies as a side?) Oysters....wine.....A+ Waiting forever for a table squished against someone else's table with chairs with no backs......D+

drool-worthy
If Marlow & Sons is heaven, I'm ready to die. Every time I visit I'm ready to order the entire menu at a go. Yeah, it's a little overcrowded, and the servers are a little disaffected. But my god, that chicken cooked under a brick is a culinary orgasm.

prices too high
This place has consistently good food - soups, tortilla espagnola, salads, oysters, cheeses. However, the prices are too high for the cramped space and noise, and attitude of servers day and evenings is just crazy considering what you end up paying. Good thing South Williamsburg has more options now.

Great Dinner Spot!
Try the brick oven chicken. Mmm. Also during the day they serve a great cup of joe, pastries, sandwiches, and other snacks. I like this spot, and its worth going for dinner sometime to try it out.
