In Meatpacking District, they had one of the best burgers. I gave it a try and had to tell them to re-cook the burger. Even after a second try, they couldn't get it right. It's alright...I paid almost twenty bucks for a burger that is obviously broke.

Since it has come to the neighborhood, it has become a place for lunch and dinner. A relaxed atmosphere, good for business or just to catch up with friends. An enjoyable menu, Belgian Beers on tap, reasonable prices. Nice crowd to hang out with. Well worth giving a try.

My mom and I went here for lunch yesterday, and it was just lovely. My moule fritte were excellent, as was her salad nicoise. Everything was fresh and delicious. I look forward to returning!

Took a date here recently. Food and beer were great but the waitress constantly hounded us if we were done eating, done drinking, etc. Thursday night gets packed so make a reservation.

The food and service and food were not up to par to other resturants in their price range and menu offerings.

Just went to Markt last night and it was just as great as before. True, the place is much smaller, and there are far fewer tables outside but all else remains the same. Once again our meal was delicious,(had the mussels), the beer was great (leffe blonde) and the service was fun and relaxed. Im so glad Markt is back.

I was there for the evening of 29 of december 2006 and new year 31 dec 2006 . I am belgian and like NYC very much just sometimes i am looking for something more traditional after 5 days of burgers and hotdogs :) for my last nyc trip i planed with my girl friend to visit the markt restaurant that was looking to be very traditional belgian food :) we where interesting to see a belgian restaurant in the crazy city of NY :) it was still the old location and it was looking very similar to our old belgian brassery in brussels but for the food i think just the name was belgian :) With the paté à l'ancienne the pikels sauce was mosterd and not pikels . The white wijn was realy bad and big problem the same one was used for the mussels so taste from mussels was not good . The steak frites was not bad but not the best i have eat in NYC :) I was also very dispointed to see that the new year meal was moules frites :-) .That look very strange for us to eat a moules frites meal for new year but ok that is another story :). Now i agree with most people the belgian dark chocolate mousse is very good :) And the place is realy interesting and funny to stay there some hours :) But personaly next time i will try another belgian restaurant to see the difference :) Good luck to all :) Oliver "leole"
