Bad food, bad service and overpriced. Will never go back to this place and highly recommend that people don't waste their time and money. Had oysters at over 3 bucks a pop. Had to spit 3 of them out because they were bad. Tuna nicoise salad was so bland, 19 bucks. My wife had penne with tomato and the sauce tasted like it was out of a can. The waiter was unattentive. Can't think of a positive thing to say.

We enjoyed everything about our experience EXCEPT the treatment by the host. From the time we walked in the door, he was rude and uninviting. After we ate and while we were waiting for other friends to join us for cocktails, our waiter informed us that the table was reserved for another party. ( something the host ommitted when we were seated) We promptly left and when I mentioned something to the host upon leaving, he followed us out of the restaurant and verbally accosted us for pointing out his error. We will NOT return.

We were just passing by and stopped in for bloody marys but the drinks were good and the bartender pleasant so we had a 2nd round and ordered a tub of mussels, which were fresh and plentiful. The menu looked so good that we returned for Sunday brunch. We had three different omelets and a stack of pancakes and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great and I thought the service was outstanding. The host could not have been more pleasant.

As long as you don't mind slow service (and rude hostesses) this place has some great food options.

Markt is great from the moment you walk through the door. This restaurant has the nicest, most enthusiastic host on the planet! The food is excellent. The burger is juicy, the steak sandwich with fried onions is out of this world, the mussels are perfect and the french fries are golden and delicious. THe only downside is the new location. The old location was HUGE open and beautiful. the new place is small and cramped.

I went to Markt last week with my boyfriend for dinner. When he suggested the place I decided to check out reviews on line, most of them were disappointing. We decided to go anyway and I was so glad we did. Having experienced Belgian cuisine before I thought the food was spot on. Our server, Jerry, was delightful and very attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our food and everything was great. The entire staff was quite polite. I would definitely dine there again, I hear they have an excellent brunch.

I find an excuse to go hang out at Markt maybe once every couple months. It's generally my backup choice for a Friday night spot. The thing is that their beer menu is so spectacular and comprehensive, it's reasonable to just want to go there to have some beer. But the bar is only like 12 feet long, and on any given night after 8pm there are 40+ wall street types milling about. They won't let you sit at a table unless you're ordering food, so I've gotten roped into buying food I didn't really want just because I didn't want to stand around. And generally I find that the other patrons of the place are pretty unpleasant. There seems to be a split with the staff, too - the waiters are rude and dopey and don't know anything about the beer that is Markt's main selling point, but the bartenders are all sweethearts and know everything about beer and love talking about it and teaching you and helping you figure out what you want. The food is insane... I can't eat seafood so half of it is off limits to me but the non-seafood is great. Extremely overpriced, but great, and good portions. For some reason the french fries are particularly good. So yeah in general I'd say go to Markt, but get there early, sit at the bar and order your food at the bar... skip the table and the nasty waiters.
