Hadn't been here for several months and was very pleased food was as good as always. Drinks were very good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Sent the food back twice, disappointing appetizers, shrimp was not fresh. Pasta was inedible. Live next door and will never return.

I spent a lot of time in Belgium while I was in college. This place has the most authentic Belgian, er, "experience" in New York. The beers are great and they know how to serve them and the moules frites (with mayo) are a really good deal and they're served in a big bucket. It can get busy, but the staff is nice and it's always a fun and relaxing place to eat. Haven't tried the brunch, but I have friends who swear by it. I highly recommend a visit!

Moved up the street from Markt recently, was compelled to try it as I'm settling on my local breakfast/brunch spot. Breakfast was awful, coffee worse than diner quality, toast came w/ ice cold butter I couldn't spread on it. Worst part is their answer to home fries- "crispy potato cake", which is in fact a stack of three thin brittle potato cakes, with a texture reminiscent of dried ramen noodles out of the package. On top of the crispy potato cake, were onions stewed with what I think was paprika, that were somewhere between cooked/raw, and generally nasty. I looked all around me and saw finished diners w/ empty plates but the potato cake/stewed onions untouched. Eggs were ok, bacon was fine. Waiter was nice and attentivel. $20+ for your basic two eggs any style breakfast is way too steep for food of this quality. Would never go back

Went for lunch with my friend, sat outside, service was ok, the mussels were not good, they tasted like cheap wine, fries were greasy, my pinot grigio also tasted very cheap, not a good experience.

I live just down the street from Markt so visit occasionally visit for a beer or two after work. I've eaten at Markt three times now, and I've found it to be just too inconsistent for me to want to go back. When I visited a couple of months back I had a great time and great food. The chicken was fantastic and my girlfriends mussels were really good quality in a nice white wine sauce. It was on the pricey side but I didnt mind as the quality was great. My most recent visit was Friday night..we stopped in for an early dinner at around 6pm. The service was good..they were accommodating and didnt mind when we asked for an inside table after changing our mind about the outside table we had initially asked for. To start with my girlfriend ordered salad and I ordered pate. The salad was very bland and pretty overpriced. My pate was OK, however the 'toast' was simply bread that had been warmed up..it must have been toasted for maybe 10 seconds. We both had mussels and fries for the main course..they were pretty good but not particularly memorable. My main gripe with this place is that its just too overpriced. We didnt have any wine, just a couple of beers..and we didnt bother with desert..yet including tip it still came to over $110..I dont mind paying for quality, but the food at Markt doesnt justify the price.

Bad food, bad service and overpriced. Will never go back to this place and highly recommend that people don't waste their time and money. Had oysters at over 3 bucks a pop. Had to spit 3 of them out because they were bad. Tuna nicoise salad was so bland, 19 bucks. My wife had penne with tomato and the sauce tasted like it was out of a can. The waiter was unattentive. Can't think of a positive thing to say.
