Good diner food, service poor
I order from here fairly regularly. As others mention it's easy, local, diner food for far west HK. The food is decent but the service can range from great and friendly to curt and nasty (especially on the phone).

Big Meh
Its been over a year since my first and only time here. I was visiting a friend who lives on 43rd & 10th and he suggested we pop over. It was typical diner fare. Though I do recall both of us having to use a good bit of salt and pepper due to the blandness of whatever we ordered. Unfortunately, I don't recall what either of us ordered since not much was memorable. But I do recall having a really young, inexperienced waitress who just didn't make the mark. See couldn't answer any of our questions about menu items without going to ask someone else. And our service took forever since she kept forgetting everything. But, hey. She tried. It was nice to sit outside while getting the diner experience. It's also quite quiet seeing as this place is so far West. If you're in the area and need grub, have a sit down. But don't waste your time hauling over there. You're not missing a thing.

Good option on the far west side
I've been goin to Market Diner since it re-opened and used to be my go to spot when lazy. Overall above average for diners, but a bit pricey. The food always is pretty good and the place is kept exceptionally clean. Definitely a good option for some quick eats.

What a Find!
A friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner near far west 42nd Street and came upon Market Diner. It was great! Good food, good ambience, great service, affordable prices. I consider this a true find in the neighborhood.

The way diners ought to be
Perfect diner food. Minus the greasy-spoon ambience. Clean. Comfortable. Tasty. And I love that you can get a salad instead of the fries without paying extra.

Fun and good food
This diner has been around for years. I knew about it, but I live on the far east side so I don't get over to 11th Avenue too often. I suspect this diner was at one time as a workaday food option for the industrial environs around it. In other words, a place where the mechanic down the block could get predictable diner food. Now that the area is being developed, it's still there, but under new ownership it that been dressed up and has a kitchy fun vibe, complete with 80s music. It's still a good, solid diner, and despite the facelift, there is no pretension going on here. The menu is still purely standard diner and there's nothing wrong with that! The food (burgers, salads, breakfast etc.) is very well prepared and plentiful. In other words, you get bang for your buck like you would expect. If you have seen this diner, you know it looks like one you would find in the suburbs - populuxe - aluminum and angular, and complete with the parking lot - but they have now made the parking area small to best take advantage of their outdoor space. The crowd is mixed but seemed to include many trendy boys. Check out!

Very good diner
This diner has been at this location for years. It closed and with new owners has reopened newly designed, with new menu and staff. They did a great job on the remodeling - but of the fun of the old place was the somewhat tacky decor - it is now quite attractive. Open 24 hours, if you are local and looking for decent food at a price that won't hurt your wallet, try them. They also have a bar. As diners go, this one is above average.
