    Cheese Fries are very Misleading

Was super excited for cheese fries. Fries came out with American slices of cheese microwaved with bits of bacon (also microwaved). And... The fries and ranch were terrible as well on their own. Needless to say, DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want a bagel with cream cheese. Very disappointing!

    Good Coffee, warm atmosphere

The Market Diner was really near our hotel. We ate breakfast/lunch there 3 days out of 5. All the servers were pro's, not new at their job, all friendly enough, never forgot anything. The food is good diner food. We had the Special breakfast item each day. Every day good. And less than regular price. We are two mature ladies and we were happy to find the busser (who refilled the coffee) very attentive. He was a very cute Puerto Rican young man . He talked to us quite a while. He gave us coffee to go for free. He could see we loved the coffee. A very warm place to go. Myself , I might even go out of my way to go here next time in NYC. But one should go for certain , if you are in the neighborhood.

    Good diner food, service poor

I order from here fairly regularly. As others mention it's easy, local, diner food for far west HK. The food is decent but the service can range from great and friendly to curt and nasty (especially on the phone).

    Big Meh

Its been over a year since my first and only time here. I was visiting a friend who lives on 43rd & 10th and he suggested we pop over. It was typical diner fare. Though I do recall both of us having to use a good bit of salt and pepper due to the blandness of whatever we ordered. Unfortunately, I don't recall what either of us ordered since not much was memorable. But I do recall having a really young, inexperienced waitress who just didn't make the mark. See couldn't answer any of our questions about menu items without going to ask someone else. And our service took forever since she kept forgetting everything. But, hey. She tried. It was nice to sit outside while getting the diner experience. It's also quite quiet seeing as this place is so far West. If you're in the area and need grub, have a sit down. But don't waste your time hauling over there. You're not missing a thing.

Good option on the far west side

I've been goin to Market Diner since it re-opened and used to be my go to spot when lazy. Overall above average for diners, but a bit pricey. The food always is pretty good and the place is kept exceptionally clean. Definitely a good option for some quick eats.

    What a Find!

A friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner near far west 42nd Street and came upon Market Diner. It was great! Good food, good ambience, great service, affordable prices. I consider this a true find in the neighborhood.

The way diners ought to be

Perfect diner food. Minus the greasy-spoon ambience. Clean. Comfortable. Tasty. And I love that you can get a salad instead of the fries without paying extra.
