I'm surprised to see such a nice restaurant in this area. The food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable, the service was excellent, and the restaurant itself is very good-looking. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Mario's was unbelievable. I walked in with two friends and seated immediately. The place was rather small, but comfortable. The service was friendly and quick. I got a large plate of pasta and a beer for about $16! I had reviews on this about the restaurant and decided to go...I'm glad I did. It's so convenient for anyone who needs to get to Penn Station or the Port Authority. If you happen to be in midtown or catching a show, concert, or game near the Garden, I suggest you give it a try!

This is the best restaurant in HK. It looks good in and out, the food is delicious, and the prices are very fair. The waiters were very nice too. I really liked the Pizza Bianca and the Lobster Ravioli. I will be back for more!

I used to live in NYC and used to frequent Mario's but I moved away bout year and a half ago. Came back for a visit last week and was looking forward to dining there again but what a disappointment. The quality of the food deteriorated and I don't even want to mention the service. I was there on a Wed. night around 9pm and it wasn't busy but the service was sub-par. I always like the shrimp parm but my shrimps were overcooked and the portion got smaller. This is what I hate about restaurants that lack consistency. You gotta maintain the level, Mario's.

I chose this restaurant based on earlier Menupages reviews and was not disappointed. Very good albeit standard Italian fare at a very good price. Mario's passed the big shrimp parm test: the shrimp were not overcooked! The block is unfortunate with most of the building boarded up, but the restaurant is nicely appointed with the requisite bare brick walls. It is definitely worth a visit and sure beats the heck out of Garden food!!

This place is not big in space, but the value, atmosphere, and food quality, make it outstanding. My table got an appetizer, entree and dessert, and it ran us an average of $25 a head! Amazing! The chicken parmesean and the spinach ravioli were hits, as well as the chocolate chip cake - which was not a cake with chocolate chips, as suspected, but a chocolate delight of a cake, with cake, frosting and chips, yet not overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu was not a hit, and the appetizer, while amazingly tasty for being garlic knots stuffed with cheese, was a little pricy at $10 (or $1.50 a knot). Overall though, the waitress was attentive, the place itself is beautiful, with a single unisex bathroom that is clean, large and recommended, and the atmosphere relaxed as well as beautiful. Recommended for smaller groups, or dates.
