Good to have relatively cheap place to eat something, in the freakin' expensive Ft. Greene. The pizzeria itself isn't nothing special but large pie for $10 does the trick in this crazy expensive neighbourhood.

Good basic pizza, but they don't use fresh vegetables for their toppings. Rubbery, tasteless canned mushrooms are never appealing. Your best bet here is to stick with plain, or a meat topping, and steer clear of their veg.

I am, without a doubt, a fast Italian- food lover. Definitely a passion of mine. And this tiny pizzeria in Ft. Green had me at "Its'a me, Mario!" Their pizza features a relatively thin, yet doughy crust, with the bottom of the crust being surprisingly crispy... which I loved. The cheese was solid, but left a little to be desired in terms of flavor. They do love to pile the toppings on though, especially if you're ordering a pie (everything is pretty much covered). Overall, pretty good though I wouldn't write home about it. However, the value is VERY good. Their specials usually feature a handful of pasta-based dishes, which I've never had a chance to try. They've looked quit delicious when I've seen others order them, and the pasta is well priced as well There are plenty of other items like the usual hot heroes, various stromboli-based dishes, legitimate Italian meals and pastries. Some of Mario's greatest stars can be found here (golz). The cheesesteak is $5.50, pretty damn big, and very delicious. I've had many cheesesteaks from all over the East coast (yes, including Philly), and Mario's are surprisingly good. Like, very good, especially considering their price. Also, I really, really want to stress how awesome the Pepperoni Rolls are, at Mario's. They're small... about 2 large bites, but they're absolutely PACKED with flavor and only 0.50 cents each! It's an amazing value since after about 4 of them today, I was pretty full. Seriously, do yourself a favor and try one if you're there. Hell, do me a favor and send me some! Although that part of Dekalb is a rather nice area, Mario's is pretty much a hole in the wall. Not really a place to sit and eat at, although thee is a bar-like seating arrangement. This is whole take-out and delivery style of play is emphasized with an actual take-out window between the register and the street. There are usually 2-3 delivery bikers on duty at any given time, and they're open until 11pm. I've never ordered delivery since it's a quick walk from my apartment, but my friends say they're spectacular. All in all, my favorite neighborhood "pizza place" so far.

I live about a block away and have tried all of the pizza restaurants around. Mario's pizza is hands down the best in the area. I always order delivery which fast and friendly and the prices are cheap. I highly recommend this place

Not the best pie in Brooklyn, but a good option if all you're seeking is some quality pizza at reasonable prices. Greasier than most. Extra cheese means EXTRA cheese. Average delivery times. Excelsior!
