Great Find!
A group of five of us went to Marinella after the Sunday Matinee - we were celebrating my aunt's 80th birthday. What a great choice! The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, the wait staff was terrific, and the food was delicious! The lasagna, made with home-made pasta, was excellent. A couple of us had the veal valdostona and the veal could be cut with a fork - very thin, very tender, and very delicious! Prices are very reasonable and I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Nothing Worth Coming Back For
I have eaten here for lunch (and enjoyed it) so I thought it would be a good place to take my husband while we were in the area for dinner last night. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. Plus, the prices aren't ridiculous. The food, unfortunately, was just average. The stuffed artichoke app was overcooked and boring, the salmon with mustard sauce tasted "fine," but it was uninspired with limp vegetables alongside, and the black linguine with calamari (usually a favorite) was one of the blandest pasta dishes I've ever eaten. Maybe the average food was just because it was later in the evening on a weeknight, but really that should never be an excuse. There are far better Italian restaurants in the same price range. Skip this one.

Average food
4 of us went here last night and from all the reviews thought it would be a good pick. Wrong. Artichoke app boring, salmon with mustard sauce tasty, but a little over cooked and chicken we had was also over cooked. The price was right though with apps, drinks, entrees and tip it was $25 per person...Wouldn't return with all the other great italian in NYC.

First time visit
We have tried several italian restaurants in Little Italy and have found them to be tourist traps living on past glories but this restaurant in the West Village is MARVELOUS! The prices were great along with the menu choices. The list of specials were outstanding. Service was nice as was the atmosphere. We travel frequently and have tried MANY italian restaurants, this one is a keeper.

What a gem!
My family and I have been coming here for years! The ambience is really great! Inside the restaurant is very charming and cozy and nothing beats looking out onto a quaint west village corner! The food is really really good and they have a lot to offer! Waiters are always so sweet and you have to try the almond cake!!

Now That's Italian!
Dinner at Marinella's was great. My husband and I ate there on a Tuesday night. My entree was the Lasagna special. The noodles were homemade and the dish was excellent. The sauce reminded me of my aunt's, which is still the best I've ever eaten. My husband had the Veal with Tomato Sauce dish. The paperthin veal was delicious, and could be cut with a fork. This is definitely on our list of excellent restaurants.

Best Italian in the West Village
I've been to a number of Italian restaurants in the West Village. I found this to be the best one for food, price and atmosphere. Rigatoni with mushroom and sausage is the best. Just the right amount of pasta and sauce. They are flexible with adding or not including ingredients. It's the "old school" atmosphere. Not pricy, noisy or crowded and the waiters always welcome you like they're welcoming you into their home. I go once every 2 weeks or so and will continue to.......
