    Great Place

I just went here & this place was very good. The pasta was fresh, the wine selection was nice & the berries and cream dessert was simple, but fantastic. However, their tiramisu was not what I was expecting. I would skip it next time. All in all very worth the trip.

    Loved It!

I made reservations online and was seated immediately, even though it was a busy Wednesday evening. Nice decor and the food was delicious. I had the pasta with shrimp, arugula and tomatoes in a garlic tomato sauce - fabulous. Perfect location for many theaters, too.

    A Monday Prix-fixe lunch

My wife and I had a prix -fixe lunch, here, on September 17 at 2pm and were very satisfied with the food and service. Waiter was friendly and very accommodating. We had a nice cozy meal, on a nice day at a very nice restaurant.

    Nice little place

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday at noon and it was an empty place, so I was a little concerned. By 12:30, the place was packed. The food was good and the waiter efficient. The only hiccup was the coffee machine was broken. Nice atmosphere.

Part of the dreaded 'Theater Crowd'

Maria Pia was a lucky find and a very pleasant surprise. We came in with the kids for a Saturday matinee and the city was crowded. After strolling around for some time and getting cold and hungry we found Maria Pia. We had no reservation for a party of 6 but they were able to find us a table withing 20 minutes. Atmosphere was great- nice house wine, loved the pear salad on special. Kids loved the chicken parm and adults were able to be more adventurous. Our server was very sweet, brought complimentary desserts for the two girls. Prices very reasonable. A little crowded, but it was Saturday night. Will definitely dine here again.

    Great Experience

I had reservations Pre Theater, and was seated immediately in the garden. I was not expecting it at all, very charming and romantic. Inside was very loud and busy though as we left, but the garden was like another world. We ordered from the pre fixed dinner menu and it was amazing, very prompt service and food. That may be my one complaint it was too quick, not like they were pushing us out, but quick. From the salad to the dessert it was a great experience. Very reasonable, under $100 and we both had an alcoholic beverage and extra desserts. I was so pleased and I would recommend this place and go back!

    Cute but not impressed

The atmosphere at Maria Pia is very nice. Brick walls, candle light. The food is not expensive by any means but for the price I expected more. The portion sizes were average but the taste was lacking. Everything was bland. Things were cooked properly, aldente, etc. but the flavor just wasn't there. The pasta was swimming in sauce - too much for my liking. The service was strange - before I even swallowed the last fork-full of food on my plate, the busboy was taking it away. We even had a busboy accidentally take our bread plates, with the bread still on them, because he wasn't paying attention and just wanted to pick up the plates. They might want to think about buying more dishes if there is such a lack of them that they must take them back even before someone is finished. I felt hurried.
