    Perfect pre-theater meal

what a great meal we had. Especially recommended are the grilled octopus appetizer, the tuna (which they made rare at our request), and the veal chop special if they have it. Great value, near enough to Carnegie Hall and a reasonably priced parking lot.

    Perfect for before the theater

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was delicious and authentically Italian. The service was very good and the atmosphere was very nice. We were also impressed with the price.... Not bad for a place in the theater district and we did not get the feeling that we were in a typical tourist type of place. We will definitely recommend it to family and friends and plan to return in the near future.

    Bravo

If you're looking for excellent Italian try Maria Pia. A charming trattoria with incredibly delicious food and more than reasonable prices. A well-balanced wine list and very attentve service. I give it a TEN.

    Wonderful Find!

Taking my mom, mother in law and sister in law in to NYC for our annual Broadway Christmas trip, I searched some restaurant pages to find a "new" good place - we always go to the same restaurant and we wanted something close to the Gershwin. Based on the reviews I read on Menupages.com, I decided to give Maria Pia a try. What a pleasant surprise! The food, decor, service - everything was wonderful. We all enjoyed our meals immensely - everything was cooked to perfection, and the chocolate tort dessert was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you're looking for something good AND reasonable in the theatre district. And for any shows in the 50's, it's so convenient. I will go back again!

    Warm and Welcoming

Excellent service and the food was delicious. A great value for the price. We had lunch on Sunday before seeing Wicked. It was perfect. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. I would definately return and recommend it highly.

    Fabulous

The bread basket is absolutely amazing! The fish I ordered, monkfish, was total perfection...maybe the best fish entree I have ever had. What a find!
