Marco Polo Ristorante

I had lunch w/my family at Marco Polo, and the waiter lacked customer service skills. He never asked us if we were ok, how was our food, nothing? My sister gave him a $25 tip off of a $130 tab, he didn't have the decency to thank her nor say bye to us when we were leaving. The food was decent, I had better Italian food at Lenny's Clam Bar in Howard Beach. Nice location, but bad customer service.

My parents loved this place, so I tried it out on Valentine's Day but they had a special menu (limited selection, higher prices, etc.) and it was a real letdown.

Every year my family will hold a birthday dinner at Marco Polo it became a tradition,i never cared much about the place till this year,we went there couple of saturday 's ago ,we were set right away,our server Jay came to the table with a smile introduced him and took our drinks order,i was very surprised how energetic he was especially that every time we went there we had a senior citizen waiting on us ,anyway i love the change sometimes is for the better . Jay came back with our drinks and told us the specials,they sounded very good ,so i got the Monk fish in a ginger stew that chef Marco (Marco polo s chef)got the night before from the fish market ,it was fantastic.Chef Marco came to our table to check on us and we made sure to thank him on the fantastic experience we had there. Anyway i love the new faces at Marco polo and with no doubts will take my family again .

Had a great birthday dinner for my sister here. Service was very prompt but not in your face Food was great, very fresh and flavorful. Dessert was decadent. Price was actually less than I expected. all together no gripes at all, just good eats and good times. would def go back

My wife and I have been meaning to go to this restaurant, a neighborhood institution, and decided to go last night as part of restaurant week. The decor is a bit tacky but the food is very good and the service is excellent. The dining room was 90% full but the atmosphere was very relaxed, and I was surprised how quiet it was and how easy to have a conversation. I plan to take my father in law there when he visits in a few weeks.

I was a guest at a wedding held in the restaurant's upstairs. No elevator or handicapped access, too many people crammed in for the size of the affair, and much too long to serve dinner (main course served in the 4th hour of a 4 hour affair). Manager oblivious to normal wedding reception pacing, leaving DJ no real time to entertain adequately. Food OK. NO Availble parking in a crowded neighborhood.

I went to Marco Polo yesterday as part of restaurant week. I am not going to deny that the food was delicious and the menu selection for restaurant week was incredible. However, the service was poor. I showed up at on time for my reservation to be told that I would need to wait 20 minutes to half an hour. I then restated that I had a reservation, thinking maybe the hostess misheard me since she did not have a reservation book, to which I was told that the she knew that, that everyone had a reservation, but that they were busy. She never apologized, but instead made me feel like a fool. She made it seem as though it was obvious that reservations were not meant to be kept, and that I was an fool for thinking that by showing up on time meant that I would actually be seated then. I even watched some parties leave after rudely being told that they would need to wait. As some consession, the owner (or so it appeared) brought bread over to the people who were waiting. Although the jesture was very much appreciated, it did not really balance out that the hostess was so rude. We were seated 35 minutes after our original reservation.
