    Could be better

This place has potential. Nice decor and fairly good food but there's nothing organic or local on the menu. Their maple syrup is not real, freshly squeezed orange juice is not real either..they claim that they make their own pastries but there is no bakery in there. Overall disappointing.

Upper East Side French Restaurant is a NYC Gem

This lower Upper East Side NYC French Restaurant / French Bistro has it all: an outrageous French Bakery to have espresso in the morning with a croissant on the run or to stay; a cool garden in the back / outdoor seating (with free wifi), chill wine bar with great specials - $1 oysters every night, and a truly terrific menu. The food always exceeds expectations. Great alone or with a group.

    not recommended

had the duck confit parmentiere - stringy duck covered with tasteless mashed potatoes - really a subpar dish - octopus salad not very good - didn't really go well with chick peas and other accompaniments - octopus came in a jar, not very flavorful - soup du jour was described as a vegetarian puree of red peppers and cauliflower. It tasted primarily of salt and pepper and very little else. The decor is dismal - we were in an enclosed outdoor room - really dreary, worn, and unattractive and the indoor space was not much better.

    Great quality, poor service.

Love the atmosphere, great menu however the service was poor, unfriendly.. made a mistake on my omlette and kindly brought me a new one with the wrong items again, and argued that it was something it obviously wasn't. Disappointed, the service ruined the experience.

    Love this restaurant

The atmosphere is fabulous. The vibe is French country, with a modern twist. The friendly approach is the country part. I have been there at least 10 times and bring all my International visitors. It feels like an extension of my own kitchen and living room. Hooray for them. They are V. Accommodating. Go!

Real french food, uncommonly friendly atmosphere

This is true french food, coming from someone who has lived in France. The chefs are talented, the staff is pleasant, and the food is great. to the other reviewer who gave them 1 star-- who orders a duck burger at a french restaurant? of course you didn't like it! burgers are just for people who don't know what to get! next time, get duck prepared in a more traditional method. geez, ANY other method. Again, I love this place and am going to start making it my go-to neighborhood spot.
