    Fantastic

Had the cold sesame noodles and mapo tofu and the food was excellent. Great depth of flavor. While there's no real ambience, the food is outstanding, and service was lickety split--I was in and out in 25 minutes.

    Best Szechuan food in Manhattan

The beautiful appetizer made with seafood amazed us and was very very delicious. We couldn't wait for the dishes any more and they only made the dinner even more beautiful. The hot pot fish was soft and tasty - I never had such good spicy foods. Best Szechuan food in town, definitely should go there again.

    Not your regular Chinese Food!

The menu is vast but their Schezuen style food is excellent. We really enjoyed the food (I wouldn't go to this place to order General Tso's chicken). The food does take some time to come but that's why it tastes so darn good! Highly recommend this place and I would definitely go again.

excellent food, but service needs to improve

I went there with my family last weekend for the first time. First we were undecided where to eat but when I passed by the this restaurant I saw a few people eating by the window and their food looks really great. I was always a big fan of Chinese food, but I wasn't particularly into any specific regional food. I thought why not settle down there for a bit and give it a try. So we went in there and got the menu and started looking through it. The restaurant provides many different kinds of food and we were at lost for a while, because we weren't really familiar with most of the food there. I really wished the waiter would've introduce the food more and give us more recommendations, but he was a bit busy at the moment so we consulted a few people sitting at the table close to ours. We got the braised beef fillets with cabbage and roasted chili and of course mapo tofu, since it's their signature dish. None of the dish disappointed us. The food looked awesome and tasted even better. My family loves spicy food and this restaurant is definitely the right place to go. I could taste the spiciness and other really well-blended flavors. All in all it was very satisfying and I recommend this place to all the Chinese food fans. So the only problem I had was the waiting staff wasn't communicative enough with the customers. I mean, they got such great food there, why not talk to people more about them! Still it was a really great experience and I'm definitely going back there.

    Fine food, shocking service

Had lunch with a colleague and we ordered very little, some dumplings, chicken, and a tofu dish. We waited 30 minutes for our food. The large group at the table next to us sat down 15 minutes after us, got their food within five minutes, and were virtually finished by the time we got our meals. The waiters didn't even apologize. That said, the food was damn good. The tofu had texture, spice, hints of ginger, and a really satisfying nutty undertone (I think there were ground peanuts in the dish). The chicken was also spicy, but excellently prepared and generously portioned. Next time we'll be prepared for a wait and will probably enjoy our meal even more.

    Alot More Than Tofu

Without question, this is one of the best Szechuan restaurants around. It is not just "hot", I have had "hotter", but it is how the spices are blended that will make your taste buds happy. My guests were from China and ordered the sliced beef tendon with roasted chili vinaigrette, braised napa cabbage with tendon scallops and ham, the sliced beef with soft bean curd, and the country style fresh water fish filet with napa cabbage and roasted chili. It tastes even better than it sounds. They were so impressed that they ordered some additional dishes "to go."..can"t wait to go back to try some more dishes.

Totally decent Chinese delivery in Murray Hill

Dishes are skillfully prepared, well seasoned, and have a variety of fresh vegetables. Wouldn't really call it authentic Chinese, but then, I'm not a very adventurous orderer. Will say this: best dumplings in NYC. Delivery is reliable -- within 1/2 hour. They even catered to the lesser items on my order: extra sauce and chopsticks, and even threw in a dessert. Thanks, Mapo. Will definitely order from you again.
