I frequent this small establishment and love their food. The flavors are authentically Sichuanese and they have great specials. The whole fishes are always tasty as well as their staple Mapo Tofu. The service is friendly and attentive.

I love ordering from Mapo Tofu, delivery or takeout, and I have not be disappointed-until today. The food was a far cry from ever being disappointing, but the delivery person stated that I need to leave a 10% tip next time. Tips are given voluntarily, a courtesy, NOT as a requirement of the buyer. On top of that, the delivery person rang me to alert me that my order was in the lobby, 45 minutes before I requested for it to be there. What if I left, or was unavailable?! That is why there is a requested time on Seamless.com, and the receipt sent to me stated it. The phone courtesy of the delivery person was as follows: "Food's here! Come down! It's Mapo Tofu." There was no sort of salutions for the person, or words of kindness. Will I order for the place? I am wary now, as I called to file a complaint about the service to the restaurant. To top it all off, I checked off for utensils and napkins NOT to be included, as I am attempting to be Earth friendly. Be sure to tip 10% for delivery, even if you don't want to, or you will hear something from the delivery person.

I had a party and ordered several dishes. Here is a review of a few. Ordered the spicy cucumber appetizer and wondered if it would be as good as the amazing dish I had from Xi'an (multiple locations). When I bit in, the contrast (cool cukes! hot chili!) was missing. Then, I realized it was green squash, not cucumbers. No wonder the oil was more absorbed, heavier, and not as memorable as the Xi'an version What was sent was passable, but I wanted memorable, and was annoyed. Deliver what was ordered! Then, I tried Szechuan Pork Dumpling with Roasted Chili Vinaigrette, hoping for a juicy dumpling and a fiery sauce. They were a little chalky, and the filling was like a fatty mass, and the sauce was not very hot. Hmmm, not worth it at least this time. Finally, I had the Flavorful Spicy And Aromatic Prawns which were served in a sea of chili peppers, and a few celery stalks cut down, and while tasty, was not overly generous in portion, or spicy. The food was delivered by a cranky person who yelled "delivery!!" behind the door, but I know that is a tough job so I don't hold that against them. Well, maybe a little, let's say that does not make a good impression. I am a little torn, but overall, think I will try elsewhere. (Thought they get points for being more authentic than many Chinese spots in the area.)

Can't be touched. The chicken and broccoli takes Chinese food to the next level. The dumps have grown on me over the past 2 years. They've realy increased the meat:dough ratio. Oh and the cold seasome noodles.... Forget about it.

Mapo Tofu is in the business of making sure you get your food and get out of there. But it is always packed. The food is delicious, fresh, and attractively plated. If you know your order immediately, it will save you being briskly asked every 10 seconds for it. And don't bother asking about the schezuan pickled vegetables--the menu claims they come with your lunch, but it's lying.
