Fresh food. Great salad bar. This is the only salad bar I would consider going to in the city. The pickled peppers are smoking, the tabouli lovely, the yogurt sauce....yummy. To all those that find this place expensive: Do you have any idea what rent costs in Manhattan? Better try Queens if its too steep here.

I just came back from a semester abroad in Jerusalem, and I am pretty sure you can't find better falafel outside of Israel. Maoz is unbelievably quizk and the salad bar and topic choices for falafel are impressively fresh.

By far the best falafel I've had within the Murray Hill area. Good ambience and the best part is you add the salads & condiments yourself. So you can vary your selection each time you go. Good value too! Try it out!

Okay I have tried every possible falafel in the city and I must say that while this place is good it is certainly not the best..I say this only because the falafel balls ( the MAIN ingredient) here seemed too dry. However, this place makes up in the extras that they have at the salad bar. The prices are not a bargain (my hubby and i shelled out $18) but the staff is friendly and the salad bar is unique (try the garlic sauce)..this place is worth visiting but certainly nothing to write home about..there are better places..

Tried Maoz about 2 weeks ago-- had the Maoz Royal - falafel with eggplant, fries and drink. The falafel was pretty good, and the fries were very good. The place is clean and the service is relatively prompt. This package was $8+ with tax, so it's no bargain, but considering what you get (I was full), it's not bad. Some people go for more authentic stuff on 17th Street (Rainbow) that is more value, but this isn't a bad alternative.

Everytime Ive been in Europe I would make it a point to stop by Maoz and have a falafel. (Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Paris) The salad bar idea is the best, and you can really get your $$$ worth. Its quick and efficient, and always fresh. Im raw vegan now, but I always point this out to anyone looking for a great falafel and extras for such a good price. Try it out.

I used to eat at this place regularly when I lived in Europe, and when I saw that they were opening one in Union Square, I thanked the heavens and counted down the days. The first day it opened I was in line, and it was as good as I remembered. Everything is soooo fresh, and the fries are to die for!
