Tapas have almost seen their day in NYC (the "new tapas" seem to be Korean), but NYC has surprisingly few venues for excellent, upscale Spanish food. Manzanilla is a new, must-try answer to this problem. We went for lunch today, and every dish was outstanding. In addition, portions are beyond generous, although prices are admittedly quite high. We started with a delicious, and generous serving of squid ink and cuttlefish croquettes served with aioli. The shared kale salad, not roasted but apparently just barely blanched, included poached quail eggs, almonds, popped wheat, bleu cheese. An amazing dish. My skirt steak sandwich with caramelized onions and chorizo was wonderful, but my companion's oxtail burger was astounding. I can only imagine that dinner is an equal treat. To add to the pleasure, the room is both sleek and comfortable, and the staff are delightful, Very highly recommended.

The restaurant has a fabulous decor. Great place to entertain clients if you want to leave them with an impression. The appetizers and starter plates are great. Definitely a must go to in NYC. If I had to say something that needed improvement was that the food could have been a bit warmer.

6 of us had dinner last night at Manzanilla. It was fabulous. The restaurant is gorgeous and the service impeccable. More importantly, the food was spectacular. We each ordered different hors d’oeuvres and different main courses and tried everything. It was all perfectly presented and prepared.
