I love going to The Mansion. The food is delicious and the atmosphere makes me feel very comfortable. The boss ,managers, employees everyone is so polite. No other restaurant can compare to The Mansion. Its a great place to sit back relax and enjoy a good meal.

my roommate and i go here often, and the food is fine. nothing spectacular, just good solid diner food. i just ordered delivery. the turkey burger wasn't cooked through, and the side was wrong. wasn't too happy.

Receiving another cold burger and fries has compelled me to write this review. I have ordered or dined in at the Mansion at least once a week since 1995, except during vacations and holidays. Their good, well-priced comfort food kept drawing me back, from their burgers and salads, to their brunch food and chicken soups, and has allowed me to nurse many a cold and host many a brunch date. I love their host and wait staff, and see them as long standbys in the neighborhood. When they shut down for renovations, I felt deprived and looked forward to their return as a staple in the area (and in my diet). Their food is still of the same quality, and I'm glad they've returned. The prices are considerably higher, with some items 20-30% higher, but I assumed this would happen when I learned the place would be upgraded, and it seems inevitable that the best deal in the area wouldn't remain so. But the re-opening has presented new challenges, namely of finding a way to enjoy the food while it's still hot in a decent setting. The restaurant looks nicer, but it is really noisy, unlike before. I dined in a few times and decided to relegate my former fave to a delivery vendor. This is an even worse option. I've ordered eggs at 9 am on a weekend, burgers at dinnertime, and now burgers again at 10:30. I've ordered from them at least a half dozen times in the last 3 months. The food has arrived colder than lukewarm, nearly dead cold. Given the long waiting time (45 minutes for a 3-block delivery), I would guess their staff is delivery too many orders at once. They've delivered cold eggs to me a few times over the years, but not every single time and only during prime brunch hours. These days, I prefer the wordless efficiency and $6 breakfast specials at Jackson Hole (91st/Madison) and the expensive but perfect egg plates at the Barking Dog. I still recommend the Mansion but with big reservations -- I want them to tweak some things and bring back my fave!

...than it was before the former owner/operator took it back. I can only speak to breakfast and the delivery service: they consistently have delicious home fries that are reason alone to order there. Delivery is snappy. Also, and in greatest contrast to afore, if there is even a suggestion of a mistake, they will graciously make it right.

I am on a very strict diet and was worried about eating greasy diner food. However, this restaurant accomodated my every request. The mediterranean omelette made with egg whites, red peppers and zucchini, was absolutely delicious with a side of fresh fruit. Not greasy at all.

I've only eaten here after 10:30 p.m., so I haven't had to contend with a packed restaurant as another reviewer mentioned. I've only ordered basic diner fare- haven't tried any dinner entrees yet. It's a test based on the belief that if the cook can't get eggs or a burger right then the roast chicken/salmon filet will be a disaster. Anyways, the basics have been terrific so far. You can tell that whoever prepared the dish cares and pays attention to detail. It's such a relief to have a diner close by with a cook that takes pride in his work. I hope Mansion keeps up this standard.
