Mansion is a clean diner and is great value. It opens early and is open till late at night. I have eaten there at all times of the day and night and the food quality has always been consistent. The menu is almost standard diner fare, but the specials are imaginative and worth it. Food always arrives quicly but if there is an area where the Mansion falls down, it is on service. Depending on who your server is, the experience ranges from the fantastic and trouble free to the poor and disjointed... but on the whole I think this is a small price to pay for good value diner food.

My husband and I have dined at The Mansion for many years. It's a few doors down from his place of business and it's two blocks away from our apartment. I have always enjoyed the food here. One of my favorites is the southern fried chicken. The veggies are always fresh as well. Desserts are delish and my favorite is the red velvet cake with real cream cheese icing. I highly recommend The Mansion. It's a real NYC treasure.

Mansion is the cleanest, friendliest diner in Yorkville. They have the freshest food, and the chef prepares it with care. Everyone in the area knows this. I don't know the reason for the sub-par reviews. I recently moved from mid 70's and 1st to Yorkville and I can tell you that Mansion is the best diner in both areas. I took my mother from Queens here and even though she wanted to move in with me just to be across from the diner I still would take her back! Try the chocolate mousse cheescake dessert-yes both in one dessert-is the best there is. The coffee is always hot and smooth. Try the pizza burgers-burgers are flame grilled nice. Also try the Chicken ala Mansionsuperb-better than an Italian restauarant can do it. I've also had the greek salad-which is a real greek salad with fresh crumbled feta, anchovies, and the most delicious grape leaves I've ever hadand I hate grape leaves but I love theirs. My mother loved the real chicken soup so much she got one to go. Reasonably priced too. See the menu then see what you get for the $$. Enjoy!

A great deal of effort went into the remodeling of this long established dinner. While attractive, it doesn't work. Very noisy. As for the food, mediocre. No imagination with the menu and I suspect some of the entrees are frozen, ready to heat and serve. Coffee date, fine. The rest, forget it.

Simply put, I ordered breakfast delivery (decided to try a new place) and the food was not good. I do not recommend.

It's not the Four Seasons, but then it doesn't try to be. The food is good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and courteous. The decor is tasteful and well lit. A neighborhood fixture, the Mansion is the best diner within at least a five block radius. (Burger Heaven is also pretty good, but it is over on 3rd Avenues.)
