Don't give these guys a penny of your business
We'd been sitting at a table for a couple hours. The waitress never took our order so we had to keep going to the bar. Finally, after two hours, she came over, but instead of taking our order, she very rudely told us that we needed to get up because some big spenders were coming in. She didn't even give us a 30 seconds (literally) to finish our drinks before she came over again with the bouncer to force us to leave. We weren't being rowdy and had been tipping the bartender well at least (the only guy who would give us any service).

Nothing to Brag about
The service and atmosphere here is so overrated. A couple of friends went out to party we ended up the the downstairs location of the restaurant. The bus boys kept taking our drinks before we even finish, so we had to dance with our drinks the whole night because if we put them down for one second the were gone. Next the hostess came down stairs and basically told us we had to get up and move because the section we were sitting in was reserved . Mind you there was no sign or anything in the section we were sitting in to indicate this.

Sad
I remember when it was Astor before Mannahatta. I took some friends who were visiting for a quick drink to start the nite. First off some bouncer or door guy well into his forties who looks like he worked at The Roxy circa 1992 hit us up for a cover charge. once we got past that Drama the short time spent was all down hill.. The bartender couldnt find my credit card , an then some guy kept hitting on my friend saying " his friend Frisco owned the place, an Frisco liked her an did she want to "party" all I can say is How sad!

The only saving grace is the calamari
I'm fed up with mannahatta. Living in the neighborhood, its nice to find a cozy lounge, and while the setup and decor is nice, not much else is. The food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. I ordered the chocolate kiss martini, UP, and the top was covered in ice cubes. You'd think for 16 bucks the bartender could at least take the time to strain out the ice. Then there's the music. Its too loud and the dj had no idea what he was doing - nails on a chalkboard would be the best way to describe it. And do I really need to see the endless summer every time I go in. Then my party was asked to move so these artists could set up for a party. Sounded good at first, but then the most ghetto crowd started piling in, so we decided to peace. The fact is, mannahatta used to be fun, but now it just seems worn out.

Mellow oasis in the city but ...
Why are the guys/bouncers charging music charge at the door when the events are free?

Perfect Tapas!
Mannahatta impressed me in every way. Not only are the tapas fresh and delicious, they came out fast. The service was excellent, serving us fresh plates and silverware after every course. The drinks are also excellent. Definitely a place to bring friends for good conversation and fun!

Save it for somewhere else.
It's funny I read a review of this place and it claimed it's the atmosphere of a club without the attitude at the door. What a joke. The door staff where not good. We threw a party here the table service was poor. Members of our party had trouble getting through the door. The GM was of no help. Save your money, and your night, go somewhere else.
