    Unique shop

I'm in town every year for the US Open Tennis and this coffee shop is a daily stop for me. Great Latte's and friendly staff. I'm never around during lunch, but the menu items look appetizing.

    best hot chocolate

this place is pretty easy to overlook given the location but it's worth seeking out. it's set up with an espresso bar like in italy. they make the best hot chocolate i've ever tasted!

    Best Cafe Mocha to Date

I am trying to find some excellent coffee houses in every part of town and Manhattan Espresso Cafe was one of my contenders for midtown east. The cafe itself is unassuming and it is very "cozy" on the interior (one counter to sit at, which can accommodate four people comfortably, five cramped). Of course, what could one expect from a midtown coffee shop? The two girls working behind the counter were extremely pleasant and upbeat. They were in the process of making a chocolate, banana crepe and were interacting with a client as to how much chocolate should be added (the girls behind the counter were pressing for more chocolate and the woman ordering was begging for less!) I ordered a double cafe mocha and five minutes later was enjoying a not burning hot perfect blend of french chocolate and coffee. It really was a "close your eyes and enjoy the moment" experience. I don't really want to go to another coffee shop, but, out of fairness, will do so. I have been to Joe - The Art of Coffee, which bills itself as a pretty darn good cup of coffee. They have a GOOD cafe mocha, but I think Manhattan Espresso Cafe by far beats these guys. Definitely worth your time.

    Authentic European Cafe

One of my favorite places to stop in for morning coffee (expertly prepared by a mostly European staff). You must try their crepes but they only serve them around lunch time. They also have free internet access. Only problem is they aren't open on weekends.
