Exceptional!
During a week-long vacation worth of good food in New York, Mandoo Bar stands out as one of the best meals we had. The gun mandoo were outstanding, as were the vegetarian mandoo. The bulgogi dolset bibimbop was beautifully prepared, and the eating the crust it formed on the sizzling stone bowl was a religious experience. I wish I'd had room for an order of kimchi mandoo, but alas, I did not. (Probably because I ate a goodly amount of the fabulous pickled raddish and spicy pickled turnip!) I love Korean food, as do my wife and son, and we are adventurous eaters. My wife, however, chooses not to eat pork, which lead to our only disappointment. She ordered the vegetarian soup with veggie mandoo -- mandoo guk -- and we asked if she could get some duk -- rice cake -- added to the soup. We were told that duk could only be added to the meat-based soup, which didn't make any sense to us. (As is often the case in Korean restaruants, there was a bit of a language barrier. But the menu was written in very precise English and was very easy to understand.) My recommendation is to go to Mandoo Bar and to go hungry! If you have to wait in line, don't worry -- the line moves quickly and you get to watch the talented women in the front kitchen making the beautiful mandoo. I wish Chicago had a Korean restaurant like Mandoo Bar -- I don't think I'd ever want to eat anywhere else!

Mondon't? No - - Mandoo!
The dumplings are so, so good... the service was great, the place is small, but very cute and well done. A little pricier than a normal lunch (w/ tax, tip, appet. split, 1 order mandoo, & soft drnk 18$) but totally worth the splurge!

Fresh made mandoo and nice environment. I would definitely recommend it especially for taking out-of-towners.

Good Eats
A friend took me here about a year ago and I have been back several times since. Great mandoo. They make it fresh right in the front window. Stellar food. Nice environment.

My first mandoo experience
This my first Mandoo experience. I was very imjprerssed with the cleanliness and organization of this little restuarant. I had the the "spicy" kimchi mandoo. They were very good, and no doubt very fresh. (you can watch them being made in the front window.) The pickled yellow radish was totally awesome and so was the spicy radish. They give you 9 mandoos for $8-$10, this isn't a bargain but certainly is reasonable for handmade dumplings. The amount of food they give you is certainlt enough, however like chinese I was hungry about 2 hours later! That being said, it was a very good appetizer. Avoid the soda its $2 per can except Ginger Ale which is $2.50?! I would certainly go here again.

Dumpling sampling
High quality food. Prices are good. I think they should add some more rice dishes with chicken in their menu. I think you should go at least once to taste the delicious korean food. And for that I think mandoo bar is the perfect place.
