    Pie

Shepherds Pie - Mash potatoes is baked on top of the mince so it browns slightly in the oven and develops a crust. A different Brit in NY

    Brilliant

Cute little bar with great food. I had the philly cheese hero and it was to die for. The best I have ever had. Staff was very friendly and heplful. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Cottage Fries

One of the best Chicken Parm sandwhich's and cottage fries in the city. (and i've tried them all) Only knock would be I think even traditional Irish pubs should have an NFL package.

do they know what they are making?

I've ordered from here a couple of times now only to be disappointed both times. Once was for the louisiana chicken salad which didn't come as specified (dressing on side) but I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried again this time with an british dish... well I don't know but unless shepherds pie has changed all of a sudden I don't know what it was I got... not that it was bad, actually kinda tasty but not what it was meant to be! A bunch of mince with a blob of mash on the side, not a pie of any kind, perhaps it a southern take on british food? Plus the delivery was slow and I didn't get cutlery one time. Won't recommend it... Sadly I'm still looking for a decent bangers and mash or shepherds pie locally that can get delivered :-(

Best Hidden Gem in the City

This place is GREAT. The best pub food in the NYC. The setting leaves a bit to be desired, but it adds to the experience. Again, best pub food in NYC I recomend the Sampler Platter and the Fish and Chips and wash it down with a cold draft. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

    Ehh

I had a sampler of the appetizers and a burger. None of them were worth recommending. The nachos are worth a mention to avoid. For better bar fare on 2nd Ave, try Nessa which has excellent burgers and a fantastic spinach and artichoke dip. You may also want to try the Town Crier on 53rd, just east of 2nd which is small and hidden.
