Habibi
I just call it as I see it ok. I've been coming here for over 20+ years since I was a young girl w/lots of close loving ppl.& friends who I adore. I always say that I would not bring others to eat in a place which I would not eat at myself if I've had a bad experience before so ill continue to keep bringing all my friends here because its very cozy(extra small @times LOL).faces behind the counter may change but the food is amazing & affordable with the feeling your back home with love.stay the same and don't go too fancy on us. Lots of love to all the hard working ppl. Serving us w/love.OXOXOX

getting home to finding your falafel sandwich has no falafel
i was on my way home Saturday night and decided to stop in at Mamouns for a falafel sandwich. When I got home and went to dig in I discovered that instead of a falafel sandwich I had a lettuce with Tahini sandwich, no falafel. Just to add insult to injury they had also overcharged me. Thinking back also on how rude the service was I think they were having fun with me. Well, that's the last tme I stop at Mamouns for anything. If you want a reliable late night eat go elswhere.

Still Crazy After All These Years
Seriously, I've stumbled here for over 25 years, it tastes exactly the same, all good, all quick, amazing. I'm not sure if those saying it went downhill are competitors, because it's so far from the truth. In fact, I'm amazed how consistent they've been all of these years - but whatever. It's a cheap eat, stumble in at 2 am joint and it always will be. If you want 4-star dining, go hit up the Mesa Grill or something -

Great food
You get what you pay for. It's cheap and absolutely amazing, but the hot sauce is a must. However, you aren't paying for atmosphere.

best falafel in the city!
mahmoun's is known for their falafels and they do live up to the hype. so cheap for a falafel and a bottle of water. make sure to put some of their famous hot sauce (be careful, very spicy).

Good, cheap, and fast
After hearing about this place forever (both good and bad), I decided to bite the bullet and go. The lines had always scared me, honestly. The falafel sandwich is only $2.50 and it's pretty filling. Enough for a satisfying lunch or late-night snack. I've had falafel sandwiches at a few places in the city and I think this one is the best I've had so far. I will continue to go to other places, but when I'm in the Village late at night, I now know where I can find a good, cheap place to feast. Only regret is I wished they would have gave me napkins because I didn't even think about grabbing some. Halfway through eating I realized I spilled sauce all over my black coat...oops!

Why would anyone call this the best?
I have given Mamoun's a chance on several occasions and each time I am disappointed. there are so many amazing falafel places downtown that serve quality, tasty food for good prices. I feel truly bad for people who think this is the best, and hope that one day they experience real falafel.
