No Fork!?
The last three times I've ordered dinner from Mama's, they haven't included plastic utensils. Since I'm having the food delivered to my workplace, this is really pretty obnoxious. Also, delivery seems to take a lot longer than it does from other places in the area. The food is about the same as always, pretty good and satisfying and consistent but nothing amazing. (Aside from their banana cream pie, which is one of my favorite indulgences.)

Quality going downhill...
I've been going to Mama's for over a year now. At first, everything about it was wonderful. Huge portions, fast delivery, always nice and hot. Now, the mashed potatoes are always watered down. They are not like the tasty, buttery mashed potatoes they used to make. The quality just is not worth the price anymore.

Mama's Is Like a Drug
Been going to Mama's for *years* and will not stop! The salmon, mashed potatoes, green beans, Chinese greens, and mac & cheese are all pretty unreal. I don't really understand the reviews posting about this place being expensive. $11 for a meat and 2 sides? If you're a normal-portion-eating person, you will get 2 meals out of this $11. You can't beat that. The ONLY negative about this place is that I always want it on a Sunday night and it's not open on Sundays. Someone take care of that please? Kthanks.

Yummy!
I am a true Southern Belle and this is the first real southern food I have found. Yes it is expensive but there is NO way you can eat all the food in one sitting. You must be crazy! So 11 bucks for two meals is not bad. I crave the Mac'n Cheese. Like heaven on a fork. It is served cafeteria style so you have to heat it up whether your in the restuarant or at home. Yummy and laid back. What life should be like, right?

Way too expensive
The food at Mama's is decent if you have a soft spot for chicken, fried chicken, potatoes, etc...but $10.84 for two pieces of chicken and one side is way over the top, even for this neighborhood. Will not return.

Love Mama's, but...
I have been ordering food from Mama's for five years now (even used to go to the Sullivan location when it was still open). BEST fried chicken, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans - love it all! Also try the banana cream pie for dessert. The only complaint - just recently moved to Stuyvesant Town and they usually refuse to deliver there (sometimes yes, sometimes no), even though it is only ten blocks away. This makes no sense to me, and I miss my weekly (sometimes twice a week) food from Mama's!

Disappointing
After reading positive reviews on Mama's, I decided to give it a shot. Boy was I ever disappointed. I had the fried chicken with man n' cheese and mashed potatoes and waited an hour for delivery. I live right down the street and it took this long. Once delivered the bag looked liked it had been dropped a few times and the food was cold. Nothing is more frustrating that eating "southern" food cold. It's an insult to the name "Mama" I'm not sure what people see in this place but my first time was not a memorable one...although I may give it another try. Chicken was dry and tasteless, the mashed potatoes were too salty and the mac n' cheese had too much garlic. The only thing decent about this place is their catchy menu but that can only take you so far
