    Festive and yummy!

Great atmosphere for all... The food is great, well priced for the quality. It's a small place usually quite packed, sometimes too crowded, but over all a great place to take the family or go with friends.

A Little Bit of This and That

I think all the reviews so far are true, at least in my experience. Service is excellent, food is average but I've had better for cheaper (and in no way compares to what I've had in Mexico) and while I like the atmosphere, it is definitely not a place to have a quiet conversation, if that's what you're looking for. But if you want a festive, lively place, this is it.

    U missed the point!

This place is fun. If you come inside looking for fine dining and good conversation or even authentic mexican music and food, then u ARE a gringo. I've never read a review that was so negative about a place that it called a "wedding atmosphere"!

    Mama, What's the Big Deal?

Friends, hubby and I have been here more than once (more than twice even!) and don't see or taste anything above average. Other than the excellent, attentive service, the food is standard, the prices lean toward the high side, and the mariachi band is downright annoying ("let's play dumbed-down Mexican music for the gringos!"). I can also do without the pressure to order the fresh guac, thank you.

    Wonderful Neighborhood Joint

As others have said, it's delicious, it's cheap, and the staff are very charming. What else could you want, other than an extra table or three? One word to the wise: the giant burritos really are giant; just one $2.75 taco is usually plenty for me.

    mama

This place is too crowded and especially noisy. It's like you're at a mexican wedding when you're there and you need to shout to be heard to have dinner conversation. For me, it's a stressful, annoying experience. However the food is decent though overpriced for Mexican. The best thing there is the fresh guac.

    Good atmosphere - mediocre food

The atmosphere here is great. The guacamole they make at the table (it ain't cheap), the mariachi band, the manager pouring tequila into your mouth. That's all well and good. And go for it and a good time. But don't kid yourself about the food. It's nothing spectacular (aside from the guac), especially for the price. For good, cheap, authentic mexican check out Taqueria y Fonda on amsterdam. Both are good places.
