mama maria's is like going to somebody's grandma's house for delicious home cooked italian food. everything was very good - the pasta al forno was great! it's a very comfortable setting, gracious service, good food.

Had dinner with my wife and friends and was totally impressed at how fresh everything was. Homemade bread, pasta, mozzarella and desserts!! How can you beat that! This is an authentic italian family run business. The prices were pretty reasonable for the area and the food was excellent.

Went to watch a nice movie with my husband and then tried mama maria after friends told us about it. Had the swordfish and rack of lamb....out of this world. Carol gardens best kept secret!

As a waitress myself i find that the servers there are absolutely horrible. Everything takes forever...getting water, the bill, your food....even getting sat. I stood at the door for 10 minutes before a single worker acknowledged me and the restaurant was empty. Its my favorite restaurant in NYC and because of one server it's hard going back. But the food is amazing so its a sacrifice. Definitely get the Chicken Francese or Chicken Parmigiana. SO GOOD!

The food here never lets me down. The chicken marsala is mouth watering! Service is usually pretty good and attentive. The movie theaters are not too far away, so this is a nice spot to come to after catching a flick. Prices are pretty decent too. Highly recommended.

We dined at Mama Maria's the other night. My girlfriend got the Rigatoni alla Vodka and it was a bit on the dry side and didn't taste all that great. I had the Mussels, clams and Lobster tail in Linguine. It was not at all good. One of the mussels hadn't even opened which is not a good sign, but what was fresh was good. The Lobster tail was over-cooked and rubbery. The service was poor. Our waiter spent more time on his cell-phone than on his tables and didn't take our order for over twenty minutes. And as we arrived they decided to turn on the huge 100 inch television. This kind of ruined the atmosphere. However the Ceasar salad is the best i've ever had!
