    Great Soups!

I ordered wonton soup and chicken satay from Malaysia Grill after Hunan Balcony told me they "don't have wonton soup" (odd considering its such a staple of Chinese restaurants!). The soup was fresh and delicious and exceeded my expectations and far surpassed Hunan Balcony's oil-dripping wonton soup. I would also recommend their Thai Tom Yum soup.

    mediocre at best

Went here for dinner one Friday night - the place is small, there were maybe 2-3 other tables being waited on. Service was quite prompt - we got our food after very little wait. However, the meal was somewhat disappointing. It's very standard Asian take out...the food was too greasy, and the quality was nothing special. Portions are not particularly large either. Good for quick bite, but nothing really memorable.

    a welcome inexpensive addition!

it's tucked away on 104th btw bway and amsterdam, and easy to miss, but don't! this is the first inexpensive alternative to come to the low 100's / bway area in a long time. the nabe has become overrun with places that charge too much for quality that just doesn't measure up. if you like asian food in general, you'll get good value here. the people who run the place seem to like to talk to their customers, although some of the waitstaff have language problems. the decor is not fancy, but very warm and inviting with the wood paneling and the wood frame off the ceiling. the space is intimate and flows well. great place to take a bunch of friends and for take out!

    Will be sorely missed....

I don't think that Saigon Grill is nearly as good as this place was.... I will miss it! If anyone finds out they are moving to another location, post it up right here!

    Good Bye Saigon..........Hello Malaysia

I have passed by this restaurant dozens of times. I had been liking Saigon Grill's taste and price, so I found no reason to go elsewhere. That is until they stopped delivering (its been like 3 months now). It was my first time ordering here and I decided to do take-out. I ordered some mango chicken, pinapple chicken, and ginger chicken. All three dishes were excellent. BTW, to me coconut rice tasted like regular rice (i tasted no difference). The appetizers we ordered were nothing special and seemed expensive for how little they were. The Satay is just too much money for such little stuff (but then again.......they are appetizers.) The delivery was fairly reasonable and I will be ordering again.

    delish replacement for saigon grill

I've been ordering from here since Saigon Grill stopped delivering. They have similar food (although, no beef&green papaya salad!) and the prices are much better also. The delivery is quick, but I was put off a little by the woman taking my order recently; I couldn't find my CC and it took me about 20-30 seconds to find it, but she was rushing me and saying she was really busy, can't I just pay with cash... hello? come on.. I'm busy... busy busy... etc. Jeez! The Lobak appetizer is a little scary, stay away from it if you like "American" Asian food. The Roti Canai is delish, and is an appetizer! That's why it's a small portion! I try to order lunch usually, because I don't like have to pay more for the dishes I like at dinner (mango chicken.. they all cost the same at lunch, but much more than the other chicken dishes at dinner!). Also, the samosas are nothing to write home about, but it's great to be able to get Pad Thai and satisfy a samosa fix from the same place! I always thought MG was owned by the SG people, but if that is so, why aren't they having the same delivery issues?
