The Best
Malaysia Grill is the only restaurant worth ordering from above 103rd Street. It's always tasty and delicious, and the quality is excellent. I'm so glad Malaysia Grill exists.

One of My Favorite Restaurants in NYC
I was literally devastated when Malaysia Grill closed. I lived a block away and ordered takeout from them probably 4 to 5 times a week. I know it's a bit extreme, but the place is fabulous and the food is amazing and I never got tired of any of it. I was resentful of the landlord raising the rent to an astronomical levelresulting in the closure of the Korean market next door as well. I'm certain we'll soon have another bank or drugstore there soon. Hooray. The owner and staff knew me well b/c I ordered so frequently and I kept in touch with them during the months they were preparing the new space uptown. When they re-opened, my husband thought I was going to have a heart attackI was jumping up and down with joy. He was pretty happy too. Do you know they still delivered all the way down to 88th St? I'm fairly sure they go even further south, as well. I have begun ordering from there regularly again, and the food is just as excellent, if not even better. I hope the business does as well further uptown, because they're great, honest people, and truly make fine, high quality food. I will forever be a supporter of theirs. I recommend them most highly. Please give them a chance! You will not regret it.

Welcome Back!
I haven't had a chance until today to visit Malaysian Grill since they re-opened on 104th St, but this was the best place in the city for Nasi Lemak (my husband became addicted to it when we visited Kuala Lumpur last year), so I had to take the trip uptown. I'm glad to say that the quality continues it's high standard at the new spot! On a side note, when I returned home from picking up my take out order, I discovered that there was one item missing from our order. I called them about it and since it was an error on their part, they quickly offered to deliver the item to our place on 76th Street! That kind of service and dedication is rare nowadays. Yay Malaysia Grill!!

Great Soups!
I ordered wonton soup and chicken satay from Malaysia Grill after Hunan Balcony told me they "don't have wonton soup" (odd considering its such a staple of Chinese restaurants!). The soup was fresh and delicious and exceeded my expectations and far surpassed Hunan Balcony's oil-dripping wonton soup. I would also recommend their Thai Tom Yum soup.

mediocre at best
Went here for dinner one Friday night - the place is small, there were maybe 2-3 other tables being waited on. Service was quite prompt - we got our food after very little wait. However, the meal was somewhat disappointing. It's very standard Asian take out...the food was too greasy, and the quality was nothing special. Portions are not particularly large either. Good for quick bite, but nothing really memorable.

a welcome inexpensive addition!
it's tucked away on 104th btw bway and amsterdam, and easy to miss, but don't! this is the first inexpensive alternative to come to the low 100's / bway area in a long time. the nabe has become overrun with places that charge too much for quality that just doesn't measure up. if you like asian food in general, you'll get good value here. the people who run the place seem to like to talk to their customers, although some of the waitstaff have language problems. the decor is not fancy, but very warm and inviting with the wood paneling and the wood frame off the ceiling. the space is intimate and flows well. great place to take a bunch of friends and for take out!
