Had just come back from a trip with a diet of excessive (though good) meat & potatoes, and was craving delicious leafy greens, and simple steamed whole fish. Like they have in Chinatown. But without the long downtown trip. Malaysia Grill was the only restaurant in my search here that had it. So yes, I went here for Chinese food! And yes, it was very good. Steamed bass with light ginger, scallion, soy sauce dressing; garlic sauteed spinach, hot rice - was heaven (though fish slightly over done). May come back to try the Malaysian food, but for this craving - left very happy. Lovely service.

I love this place. It's my favorite restaurant in NYC. The curry is out of this world!

Trying to be Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian is doomed to fail. I tried luncheon of grilled porks chops. A standard Vietnamese dish. Not grilled well, only 1 big chop for lunch and mostly bone and fat. Poorly made salad with hotch potch of ingredients, no sprouts. White rice comes with it. Chicken with mango was OK. Service was OK. Biggest fail was weak AC on a 95 degree day. It’s not worth returning to as there are others like it and better. Prices fair for lunch.

I have been going to the Malaysia grill since 87th street. It is authentic, and really the best value in an over priced pretentious upper west side. The new location has a much nicer theme. And--is very peaceful, and out of the way--from Broadway. You need to know where it is--it is not easy to find. You have to make it a destination. I have tourned Malaysia, Singapore etc..and I can say--the stay is real.

We're from out of town and found this by accident. The food was excellent and the service quick and friendly. Will go back again before leaving town.

I have been a loving customer since Malaysian Grill was at 87th street! I have always ordered in whenever I have the time to sit down and enjoy a long nice meal. When going to the restaurant I am always treated like family. Knowing most of their menu I always like the Chicken Kuri Ayam along with a Pad Thai. I highly recommend the Pad Thai, although it fills you up so much, but is just so very delicious. The restaurant is very small, and it is unfortunate that they do not have that much space to fit their enormous amount of customers. Giving this place buisness is not just a pleasure for me, but a pleasure for my stomach. I hope everybody enjoys Malaysian Grill just as much as I have over the years. I wish this place the longest of runs as a restaurant, and hope that others will follow in my footsteps and make this place a weekly tradition.
